Lazy analysis that. Kids 19, made the step up from youth footy to the toughest league in the world and held his own, as well as missing a portion of games through injury. He also happened to be playing in the one of the worst prem teams in modern history. How many young kids that age do you see ripping up the prem with goals & assists (don’t use Rooney as he was a generational talent). You don’t need to be a football scout, you just need to apply logic as your expectations are in fantasy land.
I haven’t even said he’s bad? I’ve just said if we pay 50m and give them a 25% sell on clause it’s a terrible deal. We all know we need a productive right winger who will come in and immediately hit the ground running with goals and assists, and as talented and as much potential as Dibling has, I’m not convinced he’s going to provide that - at least in the short term

No need to be such a condescending knob like

We’d have never bought any of Arteta Cahill Pienaar Ndiaye Fellaini Richarlison if we had based it on needing someone to come in and hit the ground running with goals and assists now.

Richarlison had 5 goals and 4 assists in his last season at Watford and he was probably the most prem ready of any of those players in that list.

We are not in the position to buy risk free proven quality no matter how much money we’re bidding.

He may have potential but in his position we need the finished article. As you say he isn't close to that at the moment. If we are going to spend the reported amount of money Soton are asking best to look elsewhere.

The true size of a club should be its fan website and contributions!

Since the Dibling news broke we’ve had 243 pages…

In contrast Soton’s fan website…since the news….yes just 9 pages!!

Of which
50% why would he want to go to there
10% they are always relegated! The irony
15% a big club like spurs will come in
12% everton have no money
8% were just as big

Please sign him blues…to shut their tory fan base up!!
I remember when we were battling relegation against Leicester and Leeds a couple of years ago, I had a look on their forums and their relegation threads were like 10 pages long.

For reference @matty1878 and @Kev The Rat had about 20 pages worth of posts alone in ours.

It's an unfair comparison but at that age I can remember very few players indeed that look physically that strong, Rooney being the clear standout, most 19yos struggle in that regard but remember Rooney bouncing top class centre backs off him when they tried to bully him, this lad has that exact same thing about him.

It's funny watched a podcast with a Leicester fan last night talking about Dibling. He was basically eulogizing with praise and spoke about his physicality. At 18 he already looks big and strong and frankly mature beyond his years.

I don't know if it happens, and there's a world we might go back ro say Fofana. But of the right wingers we have been linked too, Dibling would be the one I would want most. He looks like he has the highest ceiling to me. I appreciate that doesn't mean pay anything for him, but all things equal he would be the one I would want.

Diblo should be told in no uncertain terms by Everton that he's to get his tranny req in today at Southampton. The club is working hard to sign him, but won't cave in to unreasonable demands. A speedy deal is crucial to all parties at this stage.

But , as we have seen , recruiting the ‘finished article ‘ is difficult for a mid table team with no European football to offer and a recent history of relegation struggles.
We either settle for players of a lower quality which will not improve us significantly, or take a risk like this , which is a calculated risk considering how highly he is rated by people who know the game.
One final point , having researched his performances last season , I would say he is already a capable player more than able to hold his place in our side.
