“he’s 19” “was part of one of the worst ever teams in Southampton” Jesus H Christ some of our fans are utterly clueless.
I wish I was 19 . And I certainly wasn't " part of one of the worst ever teams in Southampton” - that is a cruel quote . I am also not a Tory as certain members of yours and many other club forums believe just because we live in the south . Anyway I have long given up expecting much sense on forums .
Heath broke our hearts - not really bothered about the other bits
Only popped on here to see if there was any new info from your perspective (as I was planning on getting his name on the back of my shirt for Saturday) ..... Seems not yet .
Dibling seems a good lad but we are asking for an awful lot of money and its a huge gamble for both clubs

It’s a brave man who can predict the how the abilities of two very young players will develop.
Of course there may well be less expensive options , but do they possess all the potential or perform well in the same areas as this young man ?
Are they available, would they be interested in moving to us.
Do they have the potential to develop into a player that will make a enough profit to reward the risk?
There are many variables that dictate the value a club is willing to pay .
Clearly he has been identified as a player who will meet most of the requirements.
I don’t know of any other player who matches Dibling in age , potential or ability at this moment in time ( doesn’t mean such a player doesn’t exist ) and significantly the only comparable one you referenced wouldn’t have chosen us even if we had approached him ( in my opinion)

It's an unfair comparison but at that age I can remember very few players indeed that look physically that strong, Rooney being the clear standout, most 19yos struggle in that regard but remember Rooney bouncing top class centre backs off him when they tried to bully him, this lad has that exact same thing about him.

I think the Dibling transfer is hugely improved by the addition of Grealish. If it's just Dibling coming in then it becomes all about him and the fee and he needs to immediately hit the ground running.

If we bring Grealish in alongside him then it all becomes about Grealish. Grealish is used to that pressure and he can take the focus off Dibling while he finds his feet.

A very good shout that actually

Does anyone know if this kid is worth it

I've escaped to Wales so no longer have a season ticked at St Marys but those Saints friends I still talk to say most definetly yes.

Those who have followed his progress since the Chelsea debacle report an all round talented attacking player who is modest and liked by all at the club. I was worried expectations and pressure at Everton would break him but looking at any other options maybe here he'd get some appreciation just for the way he plays.

He could be Bale or he could crash and burn like Dele, fact is even Spurs were able to get money back (a lot from us) on Ali's potential years on. I suspect so would we if Dibling doesn't turn into the beast we'd like.

I'm also seeing this transfer as a test of our ambition now, which pond do we want to swim in?

If you're doing that mate then I do hope your buying the new Everton home top, cos it's very unlikely you'll keep him now
