We wouldn’t need to put a buy out clause in, we could just refuse any bids below our valuation if that’s what we wanted to do, a buy out clause wouldn’t make any difference.

The sell on clause is a massive thing, of course we all want him to be amazing, stay forever, win a million trophies etc, but that’s not often how it works. The reality is if he’s really good for us he’s likely to be off in a couple of years, that’s just how the world works and there’s no point in us pretending it doesn’t.

My son in law is (was) a saints st holder but spends so much time around my family that he’s legit a blue now. He’s not a fickle f***** either, just likes the way we are. He’s been to Goodison with me and loves it
