I wonder if the sign on fee was the bit that's thrown it out and it's needs to be lowered. Everton may give a bit more in add-ons, so more 40+8. I think the club have probably said they're not going higher though, and he's forcing it through.

And yea, it may be that Southampton go and get their stuff sorted, and things fall into place.

Players don't get sent to train on their own if a club has walked away though.
