Don't get why so many clubs are sitting on their hands this summer?

escalating wage demands have for the majority started to be one almost unsustainable especially so if the new regs come fully into force on the ratio.

Is it possible clubs are trying to put the breaks on it and get wages back somewhat under control - in other words swerving all deals were wage demands are silly high?

Ofc the top 4-5 aren't but they don't have to concern themselves as the CL cash cow covers this as does their global income.

The promoted teams have that premier league revenue they are desperate to keep involved with.

But for the rest at some point their had to be that line in the sand that clubs had to start reducing costs and the only one doable is wages.

Simply put wages and such have outstripped revenue growths by too large a degree to be sustainable

If they're prepared to loan him they can wait till the end of the window really.

City are a strange one, previously I'd say they would do a deal quickly as they very much had the mentality of doing right by players.

But the new guy who came in seems to not be doing that, hence a few players saw asking prices risen etc.
