I think its now a case of who blinks first. I dont think other clubs will come in at the price Saints want. I think they were hoping for a bidding war. Will they risk Everton walking away completely. His value wont increase without playing in the PL. A year in the championship wont increase his value but more than likely decrease it. I am not sure re his contract but he could walk for free in 2 years. So Saints have 2 choices give him a massive pay increase and new contract or risk losing him for potentially zero if he went abroad or sell him now. Everton can wait as long as no one else enters the race for him.
