TV Series

watched season 2 and 3 of slow horses finally, found it a bit stupid tbh... especially season 3.
I tried but never got into it. I usually have a problem with these sorts of shows, especially if they’re based in the UK. They’re meant to be set in ‘our world’ but they’re too ridiculous and far fetched so it ends up sort of conflicted for me. Too busy thinking ‘but that would never happen’

Big fan of The Chase (ITV & ITVX), me.

I even appeared on it once, though the episode failed to air because I inadvertently made a mockery of it.

All four of us contestants got through to the final chase, and I buzzed in for every answer before any of my teammates could, and I accidentally said ‘pass’ to each one.

So we only set a score of 4 (by virtue of 4 of us getting to the final).

Unfortunately, our chaser, the irrepressible Jenny ‘the Vixen’ Ryan absolutely mopped the floor with us in record time. As such, the episode failed to meet the minimum time requirement. It has appeared on their official social reels and blooper shows though.

I'd like to think your team mates gave you a good kicking in the car park afterwards if thats true!

Finally got around to watching The Expanse.

Six series x 62 episodes.

It’s a magnificent series and space sci-fi at its best.

The first series is ropey, feels disjointed and done on a budget, but once you get past that it’s tremendous.

I won’t try and explain it, as it’s that complex, but the nuts and bolts of it are :

200 years in the future, there are three colonies, Earth, Mars and The Belt.

The Belt serves Earth and Mars, who are constantly on the edge of war with each other, whilst The Belt harbours a resistance movement, that is hostile to both. Throw in the discovery of an alien organism, with the power to conquer worlds and you’ve got the basic storyline.

Would’ve been a 10/10 if it wasn’t for the first series.

If you’re a sci-fi nerd and you haven’t seen it, it’s a must watch.

As mentioned on here before. Foundation, all upto date with it. An absolute classic to say the least. Certainly in my top five of all time, not talking sopranos, Game of thrones or breaking bad but extremely good. So good it’s made me pick up the book, a real Star Wars meets Game of Thrones is the only way I could describe it.

Just finished Andor season 1

Feel like if it wasn't associated with Star Wars it would be spoken about amongst the best shows ever. Right up there with Breaking Bad etc

Hope they stick the landing in s2

Some of the performances were 10/10, even the minor or side characters smashed it
S2 is about 10 times better. You’re gonna love it. Best TV show of the year for me.

Funny how tastes are different. I have Season 3 of Slow Horses up there with Season 1 Broadchurch & Season 3 Line of Duty as the best telly ever.

I think having read the books first or at least one, helps massively with Slow Horses, as you already have a mental picture of the characters, which the series has managed to cast exceptionally well ( imo )
