Many of these people are under 40 years of age. To them, we are very much on the same level as them: winning nothing just like them.

The bitter truth is Kenwright ran us into the ground and was tolerated. That's why nothing clubs think they are of a similar stature to us - and certainly laugh at any idea we are a big club. We haven't been a big club in the living, breathing sense for nearly 40 years.

Thinking about this, since the start of the premier league I don't know how we've got the fans we do.

I'm a millennial so was never alive during the 80's, yet you still get evertonians everywhere, I told my wife when I took her to goodison a few years ago (during the summer and got her a cap) you'll meet blues all over the city, literally the cab driver, bar tenders, people in the pubs and on the train home said they love her cap.

Also living in London I kept meeting blues.

I wouldn't say we're a massive club but we're still somehow a big club.

I do certainly believe Kenwright stagnated us whether that's not capitalising on the premier league launch, kings dock proposal etc.

Are there many blues in London?

Walking home from work down High Holborn the other week I saw a bloke in a home shirt walking in the opposite direction with his family. I threw my hands up in the air and yelled "TOFFEES!" and he looked at me like I was on crack.

I'd be well up for some London get-togethers with other blues.

I wouldn't compare Branthwaite with Gordon. JB was a starter, and as quoted a "Rolls Royce". He's got pace, strength and also finds the goal which is amazing for a CB.

Gordon wasn't, can't remember but I think his only meaningful goal was a deflection against United? Refused to train to force a sale too.
Gordon was the best player for Everton on the pitch in loads of games

I don't live there anymore mate, down there for work a few times, but there is.

I used to drag some mates to a pub to watch the matches I couldn't make and there was plenty of blues each time.

Obviously Southampton fans are going to be a bit snippy about us trying to massively overpay for one of their players who they want to keep, but I'll always respect them for the way they behaved up here at the last game at Goodison.

Plenty of other clubs' fans would have tried to ruin that day, but they were great.

To be honest I don't watch alot of football not involving Everton...I kind of don't like it 😆. I watched the YouTube reels of Dibling people posted. He looks like he plays a bit like Gareth Bale but without the goals. Because he's quite a big lad and seems quite quick you could even say he's a little like Christiano Ronaldo. Gordon didn't really have goals in him, but you suspected he might be able to add those to his game and he has done to some extent but not to the Christiano Ronaldo level. It's a tough one for Everton this....prices are ridiculous. Alot depends on whether he can add goals and more goal involvements to his game but his dribbling style looks good and if his ability could be channelled into more dangerous areas of the pitch he'd probably be a major asset. £50 million is a lot of money though for someone who there is a lot of gamble around.

I think he's got great potential but at over £40M, I think it's a huge risk really.

I know he was in a really poor side last season but a few, including Southampton fans said he faded in the second half of the season and teams possibly found out how to deal with him.

Probably not the best time to give it the big'un when your out numbered about 60 to 1 though, eh

It's like all the people on here that say McNeil is [Poor language removed]. McNeil is a decent player who would probably grace the SQUAD of a top team. Admittedly I saw him against...can't remember ???... Brentford? last season. He was dog [Poor language removed]. But he had had family problems. And he's got his faults bit so have the best players in the world. He's a top player and we'd miss him if he wasn't here next season

I think this gets done eventually, can't see Saints walking away from the best part of 40m for a 19 year old, and he wants the move. Everything else is briefing and counter briefling and haggling over a few million.
