Transfer Rumour Tyler Dibling

Yeah I wasn’t fussed on signing him, now after reading some of the disrespect from the fans of that tinpot joke of a club - we absolutely must sign him.
Southampton have won one FA Cup in their history, whereas we have won nine league titles, five FA Cups and one Cup Winners Cup. There shouldn't even be a conversation over who is the bigger club.

When we were linked with Tete, I saw something a Fulham fan posted about us not having won a trophy since 1995. Fulham have never won a major trophy, coming closest in 1975 when they were FA Cup runners-up. Some supporters think their club is bigger than ours, without having anything to back it up.

Near constant relegation the last few years have made numerous sets of fans/clubs.

Who cannot even get near our history or contribution to English football believe mistakenly that because they finished above us for two seasons it makes them bigger than us!

I hope next season the likes of soton, brighton, brentford, fulham just to name a few…get a very quick and sharp reminder just how big this club is and the potential that is unleashed over the next few years.

Cheaper options definitely exist , but identifying them and ensuring they are of the required quality and meet the requirements of the coach is the challenge.
The fact our new structure is missing the presence of key operators probably makes it more difficult for us and perhaps means our wanted list isn’t as extensive as we would like .
We have worked down our list already with little reward to date.
The worst thing would be to recruit the low quality players who would not advance us but would limit our options for another 2or 3 years.

Agreed. We've learnt that with the Walcotts, Sigurdsons, schniederlans who we thought at the time were first team players but they only had at most a season in them each.

Hence why we couldn't sell anyone during our issues apart from Gordon Gordon.

Many of these people are under 40 years of age. To them, we are very much on the same level as them: winning nothing just like them.

The bitter truth is Kenwright ran us into the ground and was tolerated. That's why nothing clubs think they are of a similar stature to us - and certainly laugh at any idea we are a big club. We haven't been a big club in the living, breathing sense for nearly 40 years.

We did the same when Gordon left. We would probably do the same if branthwaite left. Talking them down numbs the pain

I wouldn't compare Branthwaite with Gordon. JB was a starter, and as quoted a "Rolls Royce". He's got pace, strength and also finds the goal which is amazing for a CB.

Gordon wasn't, can't remember but I think his only meaningful goal was a deflection against United? Refused to train to force a sale too.

Anyway, I've decided this fella will be a laughable waste of money, a folly, and a punt we really shouldn't be taking.

Happy to reconsider when he scores a hat-trick for us at Wembley in the cup final.

Sad but true
