Been told the lad is raging and will be handing in a transfer request. He's already agreed a deal with Everton, after they were given permission to talk to him on the understanding that it would take £40M to sign him, but not Southampton are looking for over £50M because they reckon Spurs and Chelsea are interested too
You know how many times people tell me they have been told (trainer/jockey/owner/pub owner/drug dealer who the F knows) that a horse will win and it doesn't.

Thanks for the info.

Right, so after the talk of Chelsea and Spurs interest, I had a look at their wingers to see if it made sense. It doesn't for either team, so I'd be surprised to see either get involved.

However, Spurs have winger Wilson Odebert who they signed from Burnley last summer. Was a bona fide wonder kid at the time, 19 years old, very similar to our lad Dibbling here. The fee? £25 million.

Having our pants properly pulled down here.

£30 mill sounds good, £35 sounds tops. But £50 mill???

Please walk away from this, its a terrible deal.

Yeah absolute copium to suggest he’s working for agents. They’ve named their price, it’s £50m with a 25% sell on. I mean some of us saw into the future and quoted the £50m figure last week when we wasted everyone’s time throwing in a derisory £27m bid.

This club is being run by circus clowns.
Kopite levels of delusion that.

Binning him for Doak would be cheaper.

Agree; they think we are desperate, and yes, to a certain extent we are, but 50M is ridiculous.

They are a nothing club in the Championship so they can fo.

I know it doesn't really matter to us the supporters what we pay for a player and i would like this lad in our squad but you also have to be realistic with valuations and i know people will say "yeah but we wanted mega bucks for branthwaite" but he is and has shown that he is worth those megabucks. I don't think this lad has been playing long enough at the top level to justify a £50m spend on him given our limited budget. It's a gamble that could pay off but i would guess that even if it did how short will it leave us with our transfer funds for other holes to be filled in the team and also what will it say to those teams we're negotiating with for those other players that we're an easy touch for more cash? It's a difficult one and I'm glad I'm a supporter and I don't have to make those decisions.

Yeah, but it's Chelsea. As someone described them, they're the magpies of the PL hoovering up all the shiny talent for no other reason than they can.

I think they are playing a more risky game than we did with Branthwaite. If they don’t come straight back they will definitely lose him on the cheap. Very strong league is the championship
