There are a few good players still in the lower divisions. Not the same, but reminds me when a few posters on here were raving about Olise when he was at Reading...or Adam Wharton at Blackburn.
You need to be gambling before their stock rises and take the Gamble before these clubs start demanding silly money.
I'm not opposed to a 35 mill deal, but I'd be happier to see a couple of lads come in at smaller fees who have talent like the above. Ones we can develop and turn into stars.
Next time you go and buy a house, if you plan on price negotation - maybe don't tell the seller you're desperate and will be homeless.
It's not a big thing, but it's not helpful.
The recruitment team, which includes Moyes, needs to be unified. Or they need to change/go.
We can have a crisis of confidence as fans, but the last seasons we've finished closer to Europe than relegation. We've spent £40m+ this summer, lost no key player and we're lashing near club record bids in for 19 year olds.
We've been in desperate situations the last few years, now is a delight by comparison.
We'll bring in the bodies we need, they probably just wont be the quality we hoped for because our appeal is what it is, right now.
Pretty sure any sell on clause is only applied to any price a clun sells a player above what they paid. So if we bought him for 50mil and sold for 100mil. Southampton would get 25% of 50 mil 'profit'. It's not 25% of the full 100 mill sell on price.Yes feel the same way,
I Like the players but we are paying a Huge amount for a gamble he reaches a high bar potential wise, that's only really worth the fee if he comes good and we sell him on later.
That 25% sell on is a killer means effectively we would have to sell him on for over 70 + to get are money back.
He might never get to that level look at are own Ross Barkley at that age could be argued was better at that stage of his career and was never a 70 million pound player at any stage.
We are not at the stage as a club we can afford to take a roll of the dice like that.
Get another winger and a decent midfielder and walk away.
Wish I had your optimism.Next time you go and buy a house, if you plan on price negotation - maybe don't tell the seller you're desperate and will be homeless.

We can have a crisis of confidence as fans, but the last 2 seasons we've finished closer to Europe than relegation. We've spent £40m+ this summer, lost no key player and we're lashing near club record bids in for 19 year olds.
The desperate party here should be the relegated side, with a players contract ticking on.

Anything more than £30m-£35m is overpaying. And we have overpaid by making a bid for 35+7.The club really don't want to put themselves in a position of starting to overpay for players again. You can blame the club for taking so long to do deals that it's put us in a bad position, but if players don't want to move to us there's not much you can do about that.
Dibling would be a good buy, but not at the figures being thrown around, it's not like they've had any other official offers on him - we're now bidding against ourselves for no reason. Southampton have every right to value their player as high as possible, but they risk losing the only offer they've had and seeing him go into a Championship season with 2 years left on his contract with no sign of him agreeing another, they'll get far less when they're desperate to sell next year.
We can't have a sensible conversation if you keep shifting positions.
Proven and PL proven are two seperate things amd you stated all those players were better than Wirtz, which may be your opinion, but objectively is not factual when you consider their individual and club achievements.
Anyway, Dibling - are you paying Southamptons demands? Not for me.
Having read a few articles about the lads character and relationship with Southampton, I don’t think he would create a fuss if he doesn’t move . He respects his club and is happy to continue there if no move happens ( apparently). They are playing a risky game if we walk away and nobody else comes in.
The player will see a chance of a tranfer to the Premier league gone.
Only have a year left if they come back up, he will still young and if he had any sense at all would see his contract out.
If they sell him with a season left the arse drops out of the fee.
That's if he wants to go and not cash in.
The risk isnt all on Evertons side.
Honestly if that 25% is correct they have overplayed there hand .
The footballing world has walked past us on the street, already seen us homeless, and knows we are desperate to get a house.
When we go to buy a house, it will not be a surprise to them that we're desperate and we don't need to say it.
They've already seen us pissing into Pepsi bottles in the back alley.
ExactlyIf we were to pay out £40 Million, we should be getting a guaranteed starter who is probably also our best player...a head and shoulders above the rest best player.
And Dibling is not that player by a long chalk (yet...and may never be)
It’s funny how quickly the fans revert to desperation mode. It’s like PTSD.Next time you go and buy a house, if you plan on price negotation - maybe don't tell the seller you're desperate and will be homeless.
