My longheld opinion is only recruitment, not a manager, get us away from the bottom of the table.

Lampard. Dyche. Moyes.

Doesn't matter - I'll defend any Everton manager trying to get goals from this team. Because I know it's recruitment that's failed the club, that's on no manager since Koeman.

Moyes has been here a few days and making jokes he's burned out trying to work out how to get goals from this team. He's right.

So when we're still struggling and fans are turning on Moyes, I'll be here - saying sign him some players. As I was Lampard. As I was Dyche.

🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

At this point I suggest the recruitment team gets him to put in a transfer request then goes back in with a final bid of £35m pounds—a take it or leave it straight cash offer, decision required by EOD Wednesday.

A speedy deal is in everybody's best interests.

Which was quite clearly a lie wasn’t it?

Perception eh.

No point washing dirty laundry in public.

I still have that opinion - recruitment with Moshiri. over 3/5 managers. Previous managers couldn't spend due to recruitment before them.

Oh, I will be judging them as a collective.

Moyes, after all, might have to ask some questions of his own pulling power if money is there but players are still not coming.

They will be judged together.

100%. As everyone should, IMO.

Pointing fingers is no good.

Moyes did that at West Ham too, banned their version of DOF from training ground.

Doesn't help anyone.

I actually think the recruitment team have been wise and not just done a Moshiri and paid whatever they wanted.
This is true, if that’s how it plays out, but that same team have also now completely whiffed on five attempts at filling a (the?) priority position. A RW really had to be brought in this week and now it almost certainly won’t.

I’m not saying that means they should agree to that deal, but I’m reluctant to give too much credit for them sending themselves down another dead end but braking before the brick wall.

Nah, walk away.

Im not bothered about the price but they can leg it with that sell on fee.

We're paying a high price on potential. Then we do all the hard work and develop the kid and they get another 25%?

Sod off you salt water smelling scruffs
Yes feel the same way,
I Like the players but we are paying a Huge amount for a gamble he reaches a high bar potential wise, that's only really worth the fee if he comes good and we sell him on later.
That 25% sell on is a killer means effectively we would have to sell him on for over 70 + to get are money back.
He might never get to that level look at are own Ross Barkley at that age could be argued was better at that stage of his career and was never a 70 million pound player at any stage.
We are not at the stage as a club we can afford to take a roll of the dice like that.
Get another winger and a decent midfielder and walk away.

The "we don't want to sell" line doesn't really work when they're throwing in counter offers. They've successfully got us to bid against ourselves and are chancing their arm again to raise the price

As I've said a few times now, I think they know others are interested.

They've publicly named their price - which is pretty rare - with that in mind.

I don't know if i believe this to be honest, the lad has agreed terms with us and given permission to and the clubs have been talking for a week. That indicates both parties want to get this deal done.

Strange if you don't have a sense of what it takes to get a deal done and splitting hairs at this point.

This may be optics.
Yeah
I am always dubious about the accuracy of such reports , I doubt journalists are privy to all the information, they are told only that which benefits the informant .
I do suspect in this case that Southampton are keen to ensure they are seen as negotiating a good price for a local talent .
I think you are correct that a deal will be done , probably undisclosed fee, which in reality will have numerous add ons and sub clauses which will make the final price hard to decipher, and allow both clubs to publicly claim satisfaction.
