This fella really frustrates me. He could easily be a top striker but never quite gets there. If we had more time i would be tempted to loan him out but we have no depth and Barry is going to need to be managed gently in a new country and league. Need another striker imo.

You think a 1 in 2 striker isn't good enough to cover while a rookie French U21 striker finds his feet.

Are you on drugs?

Beto ain't perfect but he can buy us the time to get Barry up and running.

I think Barry will do great.

Great lad but he's never going to be the striker we need. Frustrates the life out of me, can see why Moyes is disappointed in him.
This. Beto just isn't good enough. However the cost of an upgrade on him with be very considerable and currently funds have to be allocated elsewhere.

We can only hope that Barry turns out to be a better fit / player for us.

Beto tries his heart out and given our current squad that's important. If we had a fickle striker who sulked when they didn't get much service we could be in real trouble, whereas Beto will put a shift in. Hopefully in a couple of years he won't be good enough for us, but at this moment he is.

He isn't, but I agree that he does put a shift in.

Aside from the obvious deficiencies in his game related to first touch and hold up play, I think his concentration levels can be poor too. He really needs to focus more when leading the line.

But I have always had time for him and still believe he can be a useful player for us, which he proved last season. He's scored 2 marginally offside goals (Anfield and the other night) where he has taken his chance really well and been unlucky. That's why I think he can still do a job for us as he shows his composure well in situations - like the goal he got in the Cup against Peterborough.

Didnt give him a hope in hell when i first saw him. Zero composure or touch. Thats improved a lot. He's willing, has pace and he'll scare defenders if you put the ball in front of him. Expect him to miss lots. Also expect him to score 15/20 if played regular.
There's a beast/bully of a striker there if we manage this right.

If he gets near 25 there will be still shouts about his hold up play by "special people" here... Remember Lukaku was lazy!

Does seem to be element of that. Ok we all want that touch of class but you're not gona get that here. What is there is someone who roasted so called world class defenders like Van Dijk last season on more than one occasion. Some of his finishes aswell were very composed. Tbh i was sick to death of watching Calvert lewin for the last 5 years offer no threat to the opposition. No defenders were scared of him. If we play Beto right he's a handful for defenders.

Beto has improved a lot since moyes arrived but i can still see him being sold if we can get decent money for him and replace with an upgrade ..!

He’d honestly have a few more goals and assists if his team mates had any composure whatsoever. People give him grief about his touch or hold up play but the amount of times I’ve seen him hold it, lay it back, spin the defender looking for the ball behind only for his teammate to lash it out the ground, underhit it completely, or delay it so much that he’s offside, is ridiculous.

He showed in both derbies how dangerous he is even against a top defence if we just get the ball in behind to him quickly. The central midfielders at Everton are disgraceful at times.
