How long would it be until he is "ready"?

People would soon forget his age and inexperience.

For the type of fee mooted, he'd have to be in the team very, very soon and impacting games.

His value won't be increasing on the bench. Massive pressure on a lad at a club that is pining for a hero.
He played a full season last year at 40 plus million he’s not coming in to sit on the bench

They will sell at the price they set.
I don’t think they want to sell at all at this point unless a club pays far in excess of his current worth .
I would like him , but he is still mostly potential and definitely overpriced.
Depends what we want to do with our budget and whether his price limits other signings we may wish to make I suppose.
I wouldn’t be overly disappointed if we walked away at this point .
Agree with this. Aznou at £9m has time on his side. We have a left back who is competent but not spectacular, we have paid a relatively small transfer fee for him and can afford for it to turn out that he can’t cut it in the premier league.

For £40m+, Dibbling will need to be playing every week and as it stands would literally be the only right winger in our squad. The more we end up paying, the less we can afford to be patient with his development and the less we can afford for him not to achieve his potential.

Put a load of add ons in. If we achieve them no one will care that the fee has gone up.
Take your point , but even add ons limit future spending.
It’s a gamble because fiscal restrictions make all clubs finances finite .
Is it a risk worth taking at the price they want ?
Would paying the money impinge on securing another target whose impact maybe greater and /or more immediate.
It’s an interesting one .

I've seen reports saying we believe a bid of 40 million will be enough to sign him. What reports have you seen that the price they want has changed?

Once again, is it a rule that relegated clubs have to sell?
Ones that said they had set an asking price of 40m.

Nope, but you asked how was it different to the Branthwaite situation, I answered. They were relegated, we weren't.
