F1 2025 (and other motorsports)

Clear as day that McLaren favour Norris. Oscar will be fuming, his first pit was in response to Norris moaning about tyre deg and indicating he was going to pit, false info. Be an interesting debrief. The other way round and Oscar will have been told to swap positions on the last lap 🤣

Fair play to Lando. Took a bad situation he created & made it work. Lando's pace in clean air really won him that. The extended laps he did before his stop were faster than expected meaning when he did eventually pit it was probably 2-3 laps after they initially thought on the new strategy by not being caught by Charles. Those extra laps gave him that little extra crucial tyre life on his fresh tyres & meant he could push harder which reaped rewards at the end of the race. After bedding those hards in for 3 laps his pace was relentless right up until the guys ahead stopped.
People will talk about bad choices for Oscar but Lando's pace in clean air changed the dynamic of the race so much that after Oscar's stop the win for Oscar was up for debate rather than a foregone conclusion.

I think we also saw one of the few times Oscar has shown a bit of naivety/impatience this season on the 68th lap. The move was never on and he still tried to dive in which almost took them both out but also cost him crucial time and basically ended his chances of winning. If he'd been more patient and used that lap to set up Norris on the straight going into the final lap he probably would have been close enough to take him.

I want Lando to win but not really by much and I will be happy if Oscar does as he's been brilliant this season. But I'm happier it's 9 points rather than 23 just because it will keep it more interesting going into the second half of the season.

Bit of a random shout but I’ve got a three day ticket for Zandvoort on resale. Son’s mate can’t go now. Doesn’t look like it will sell, being just one seat. It’s in the pit lane grandstand, paid €730 for it. I’d rather give it away to someone than have it go unsold, so if anyone wants it let me know.
Would be interested, but could not in good consciense take something like that for free, and not willing to spend what they're really worth :(

Another 'Lan-do'h!' moment today.

You know a drivers race is beyond salvaging when the words “looking to extend” get muttered, the most consistently stupid strategy in f1. Lose two seconds a lap when everyone else pits but ooooh you get 5 lap fresher tyres at the end, woopdidoo lol
These aged well.

Second time he's done that. There's gonna be a Senna/Prost moment this year, unless they reign him in. Signs of him starting to feel the pressure? He's been super cool and unflappable so far, that's his big advantage over Lando. Be interesting to see if he can maintain that as the season progresses/if Lando gets closer. But Lando really should be ahead already, if it wasn't for his mistakes (especially Canada). Seems to have got those under control a bit more now. Could make the rest of the seaon really interesting.

No worries mate, but as I say, if it goes unsold I’ve lost the money anyway. I’d rather someone make use of it, your conscience is clear as far as I’m concerned 👍🏻

This kid is insanely talented, best young talent in US motorsport... what a freak accident.

Dude got fully knocked out and fractured his collarbone

Lewis Hamilton is under investigation before the race for not acknowledging and lifting off when under a yellow flag when making his way to the grid.

It doesn't feel like anything is going well for him at the moment.
