Confirmed Signing Tyler Dibling

The greatest footballer I've ever seen is an autistic left footed right winger. If you're telling me this lads the same but bigger then that's another tick in the box

Yes he's the same profile as Chris Rigg in terms of potential. Hopefully our own Harrison Armstrong and him combine well if we sign him.

I see him as moving from the RW to an ACM position in 2 seasons time -- others have posted Russell Martin saying similar.

Is that how you expect him to end up, as a 10?

Totally disagree on Rigg. I saw him play several games 2nd half of the season and he was at least as good as Dan Neil who is considered to be very good at that level.

But i do agree on their stages of development. Rigg of course is only 18, same as Armstrong.

Obviously we dont have a bottomless pit of cash but I would say that if we got Dibling and Rigg, along with having Armstrong that may well become an elite level central trio in 2 seasons time.

To be clear, Russell Martin is an absolute fraud of a manager...

But he may well be right on this 🤣

I think he could certainly end up central later on but he's definitely a wide player for now. Would often depend on who he's playing with/against as if the opposition have a weak full back you'd definitely want him wide.

I know it's rare these days in football but really I think he's the sort of player you'd want to give a free role and let him find his own space.

Making allowances for his age he would need to be exceptionally good for this type of fee, particularly how significant that would be for us. We can't spend that type of money for someone to spend most of the season on the bench.

Surely there would have to be a decent chunk of it performance and appearance related.
Yes, agreed. If the talent and background checks stack up though we could go up to £35m on a 7 year deal so amortised @ £5m per season which stacks up financially.

Have to say that if any of these rumours are true , Dibling would have to begin realising his potential very quickly in order to justify the reported fee required to secure his signature.
It again illustrates the problem , which I perceive as poor scouting , we should be signing ‘potential’ a stage earlier and at a lower cost with a lowered risk.
You cannot allocate a hefty proportion of your budget on a player who stiil might need multiple seasons to fully realise his value .
If the reports have any credence it will be interesting to see how any deal is structured.
