Would be interesting to know if we had money available for signings since the end of last season or if that money has just become available recently. So either they are not prepare to spend more and want top players on the cheap or we have incompetent people in the recruitment team in charge of negotiations.
Or the players don't want to come. You can't make a player join, no matter how good you are at negotiating.

Signing bad players is easy, signing great players is difficult. It's all about landing in the right spot on that spectrum, at a position where you're acquiring better than you currently have.

Players, even the good ones are driving by money...we have good ones playing in the Saudi leagues...they are there because of money. Ultimately it is down to the package on offer. I am convinced that if we were prepared to offer 150k a week to fofana he will be there tomorrow ready to sign.

They’ve spent more money on transfers for us than they have Roma this summer
Of course they have...different markets...the pl generates a lot more money than the seria a. I think it would be good to compare as a percentage of revenue rather than pound for pound. Then of course roma has already a big squad of players compare to us, something else to keep in mind.

Anyone not believing there's a hierarchy in place at TFG that favour's their flagship club Roma needs to wake up.

Of course they were always going to prioritise them.
Or, they have owned Roma longer, have everything in place and can therefore have longer term targets etc. And they also have European football to attract players.

It's almost like you think someone can come in, click their fingers and polish what is a horrific turd instantly, whilst operating under tight FFP rules.

Well if you're happy with them you're happy with them I suppose.

Well, the months of hope were lovely. Finally, Everton with a new stadium and new ownership had a golden chance to begin the journey back to the top table. I said that this summer would tell us all we need to know about these new owners. Well, now we know.

Tomorrow is August 1. We're miles off where a truly competent leadership would have us. The excuses are being trotted out like all of these obstacles - eminently reasonable in every case - were surprises to us.

The very fact that they were - and that we have failed to surmount them - tells you that the top lads aren't all that.

This American tour is an embarrassment, playing - badly - to empty stadiums. The signings we have made are among the worst performers. The signings we haven't are like ghosts at a wake.

These fellas have had time to get us into a reasonable position - and have blown it. Skepticism reigns. Anything else is utter delusion.

It's August tomorrow - please prove me wrong

So you think players who want Champions League don't want Champions League?

It's not all down to money. Especially not with players with ambition.

For Kinnear to do an interview and say everything is on track is absurd. Especially when the manager is clearly not of the same opinion
My thoughts exactly. At least Moyes is being honest with the fanbase. He’s not pulling the wool over our eyes like Kinnear is. It’s been nothing short of a shambles. We knew the amount of players who were out of contract and the positions that needed strengthening. We should have been in straight away to land our targets. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail will be our new motto come the opening weekend of the season. Getting a few loans in on deadline day isn’t good enough.
