Does anyone remember when Moyes only signed "three or four players every summer" as I saw another poster list down his signings as being 9-11 a few times.

I dont think its often hes only signed, or weve only signed "three or four" unless we had no money...

It used to be signing maybe three or four, tops, every season, but because of the way with the bigger squads and boys not getting games, you find that there's a bigger revolving door of players. A lot of clubs will be signing quite big numbers. Ours is partly because of the position we had, the situation we had with players. We wanted to have the players in a lot sooner, especially coming here, because I knew we'd be incredibly short.

"Then, obviously losing Jarrad Branthwaite and Tarky [to injury] – to name two – makes it even more difficult.

"But no excuses. We played the last game of the season without those two and beat Newcastle, who were going for the Champions League, so there's no excuses for our performances and I'm not giving any – but I think there are reasons for it because those boys are really important for the team."

So he doesn’t have an excuse?

This public bickering between him and the board/recruitment team really isn’t a good look and just helps to build a narrative of us being in crisis. I get that he’s frustrated but I’m not sure this is the right way to handle it..

We are in crisis, it’s not a narrative. Clearly things are not going to plan and the CEO was lying when he told us it was.

He's also said there should be no excuses because he had this current squad performing at the back end of last season, so clearly they just need preparing better at the bare minimum..

If he ever gets an opportunity to drag the club down he'll find it.

You mean like telling it how it is, fans ask for transparency until there is something they don't like about what their being told.

We are in crisis, it’s not a narrative. Clearly things are not going to plan and the CEO was lying when he told us it was.

Narrative isn’t a synonym for lie. The point is I can’t see how it helps our bargaining position (or just attractiveness in general) to have all this playing out in public. I’m also not a big fan of him immediately using it as a shield to deflect blame away from himself. We all know what he’s like for playing down expectations and I really can’t be bothered with him giving it the big ‘well it’s not my fault’ if we get off to a bad start.

Please let's not peg a narrative that completely shifts any blame or responsibility off the bloke just because we're a few signings short. This set of players shouldn't be in trouble next season either way..

If we don't get players in it's got a 97-98 feel about it, when Kendall and Heath had that paper thing squad.
I'm sure we will but unfortunately we will struggle until the window closes.

This squad will be in trouble if we don’t add to it. The manager clearly disagrees with you and others who think everything is fine and on track.
