The 'football leadership team' model

Is a football leadership team better than a DOF?

The problem we face is, if we can’t build a squad capable of making substantial progress year on year, the inability to attract the top players will still be there .

And with that, the longer it continues you risk falling further behind other clubs as well, the likes of Villa and Newcastle have already done that, who next? Forest? and the ones above those are even ridiculously ahead than ever.

This is where you hope some smart scouting and recruitment comes into play.

I know there is a lot of frustration and I certainly understand it. Following the club is getting boring imo.

Why don’t we go all out for the FA Cup next season, if Palace can win it why can’t we try the best and aim to win. Just something to end this tiresome cycle of repetitive excuses and disappointment.

The club's all over the place.

New start we were told.

It's utterly chaotic.

The only thing they're now efficient at is taking large amounts of cash off their long suffering fanbase.

You know, a project needs its own kind of players not the ones we need to fight in the market for, just some well placed bets. The project's outcomes are dependent on the temperament of the owners and nothing more. If we become a feeder club that is also a project that attract a certain type of player.

Which is why I mentioned smart scouting and recruiting. If progress year on year is minuscule in the grand scheme of things , we more or less stay as we are, footballing purgatory or at worst regress again into more relegation battles.

A new stadium is great, I love the external design in particular, what good is a new home if it will be a fresh place to stink it out of.

It makes me laugh when people are bemused at other fans for moaning or being annoyed. We’ve had nothing for years. It’s a fan base of hundreds of thousands of people, to expect everyone to feel the same isn’t realistic.

I just want to make the point that even a relegation ridden team can also attract players. It is upto us to make a market for those players if that is where we wanna be. I want our folks to outline what kind of a club we will be and then folks can complain. If we have Europe on the horizon as claimed then it is indeed exciting times ahead. We just need to make it such that we sign our Artetas and Pienaars and the occasional Barrys

So many times, it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

What happened was the Friedkins used a recruitment company called Nolan Partners to look for a CEO. They hired Angus who was then tasked with hiring in the rest of the team. He chose Nick and Chris who were consultants with him at Leeds.

They are probably all fine, as were Dan P and Kevin T.

The issue will be the same as it always has been. How do you build the club up in a league were 75pc of teams have the ability to spend the same or more.
