Why's Moyes getting stick here? He's just being honest, do you want him to lie and say it's going great?
I don't agree he looks to drag the club the down, but he definitely needs to cut the negative crap out because he's just feeding into the narrative."We're having a bit of a struggle getting ones in quickly," said Moyes. "But when you think again about it, we've been in or around the relegation positions for the last five years, not far off the bottom, so maybe there's been reasons for it."
If he ever gets an opportunity to drag the club down he'll find it.
Yes and I'm saying Moyes is right to criticise the recruitment team. Not that he should be fired in 6 months.
There can't be any real expectations right now with a squad of around 14 or 15 outfield senior players. That squad will be in relegation trouble.Of course he's right to do that.
However, it's always been the case that he never misses an opportunity to talk the club's chances of progress down. Always has and always will. That's not a coincidence, it's self preservation - because he never likes expectation heaped on him.
As I said above: we have the worst combo of manager/transfer team/owners imaginable for where we are right now.
I cant see him being here at Christmas if we dont have a decent first half of the season - TFG will ditch him.
That's looking like a good bet atm.
Yeah, he could have mentioned it as a period of turbulence caused by owners/sanctions AND ending with the fact that the financial difficulties are now over, that we have a new stadium, ambitious owners and we intend to restore Everton to it's competitive best, or some such. Not a great salesman for the 'project' imo."We're having a bit of a struggle getting ones in quickly," said Moyes. "But when you think again about it, we've been in or around the relegation positions for the last five years, not far off the bottom, so maybe there's been reasons for it."

Looks like he's intent on a showdown with the management team imposed above his head and he's determined to put the pressure on them by going public.I don't agree he looks to drag the club the down, but he definitely needs to cut the negative crap out because he's just feeding into the narrative.
Less is more sometimes, everyone knows we need players through the door but he doesn't need to be highlighting reasons why.
Just keep these pressers simple.
Is he not part of the recruitment process? Get the impression theres conflict in the kind of players they want to bring in.Should he not be blaming the recruitment team for our failure to recruit players or something?
What a load of garbageOf course he's right to do that.

Agreed. We're in trouble and he's right to speak out. There can't be any real expectations right now with a squad of around 14 or 15 outfield senior players. That squad will be in relegation trouble.
Oh behave Dave. He literally dragged the club upwards when he was appointed and with a bunch of misfits. He is clearly having a pop at the running of the club and recruitment as in they need do a lot better if the club is to move forward and he is absolutely spot on. It is unbelievably poor that we are struggling to field a squad with 19 days to go till the start of the season. Even if we signed 5 more players in 19 days (which we wont) there isn't enough time to get them bedded in and fit to start the season. It is like we have learnt nothing at all after being in the gutter for past 5 years."We're having a bit of a struggle getting ones in quickly," said Moyes. "But when you think again about it, we've been in or around the relegation positions for the last five years, not far off the bottom, so maybe there's been reasons for it."

Because he's David Moyes I suspect. Why's Moyes getting stick here? He's just being honest, do you want him to lie and say it's going great?
He'd at least attract players in here unlike the past it dullard Moyes.
Iraola should be our next manager though.
First team of class they face they'll fold.England will probably get through the group but I can't see them being as lucky with the draw as they have been in the last 2 tournaments.
