2025/26 Everton Women - Super League & Cup Games

Next season we should be able to attract a few extra fans to games with the Goodison link, after that its for the ladies to start playing a nice bit of football and more over making winning games the norm. I think the new owners will invest a bit to give our ladies a chance to challenge at the top with football being seen as a women`s sport in the US.
I`m with you on your take about the football not being an enjoyable watch, but with new players coming in it can all get a bit better on the eye, as will the first team.
We'll see Tim. It'll be good to see our women's side have better investment as they've been pretty bad for a while but I'd be surprised if the attendances rose significantly as despite the hype there's still a general apathy towards women's football from what I've experienced talking to fellow football fans

60 million is a complete fabrication. It is probably much, much less. Reason is, they want to sell part of it to outsiders so they can't just arbitrarily pick up a big number, no-one is investing at that price. But they also can't first tell PL that the team is worth 60 million and then sell, say, 25% for 5 million. They would have to aske for 15 million and again, I doubt you'd find investors at that price.

You could buy a decent Championship team for 60 million.

It was reported that the sale was,in effect, made in the same manner as Chelsea's sale of its hotels. So, the price could be whatever you
want it to be, within reason.
Sheffield Wednesday owner wants £100m to sell the club. As far as I know they`ve sold Hillsboro and can`t pay their players wages so if you go by that nutters figures the sky`s the limit for how much the ladies are worth.

Chelsea sold it's womens team for £200m. I reckon we have probably only sold a small stake so future psr problems can be covered with similar small stakes being sold. All only my guess work but the bar has been set by Chelsea so premier league can't come back and whinge now.

They’ve sold the whole stake, to ourselves basically.
Yet more proof that PSR is ruining football.

Don't think this is the thread (forum/sport) for you mate. You're free to be a "whiney old man", just go and do it somewhere else. Considering you clearly don't appreciate women's football, I don't know why you're even in here, except just to come and be negative, which is a bit sad tbh.

Doubt it in all honesty, the quality was sadly lacking despite the hype and 'drama'

Spain did my head in, pretty short passing but absolutely no idea in the final third. England are so limited it's untrue yet we'll hear about how brilliant they are til Kingdom come now. Don't get me started on them pass back penalties either!

Did you watch? They had one shot on target in 120 minutes of football. Just sat back and gave the ball away constantly. They're a good group for resilience but there was no talent in them

They drew if I'm being pedantic. Penalties are a bad way to decide a women's match as they are generally terrible at taking them. My point anyway is womens football attendances won't go up dramatically because people pay first and foremost to be entertained and if the world's best sides can't produce quality football on the grand stage then I doubt flocks of people will all of a sudden be inspired to go to the WSL games. As I keep saying womens football is a niche sport where families with young daughters make up the prominent fan base. Bringing in new fans from men's football won't happen for the above reasons I state. And to be completely honest I absolutely hate the hyperbole of the media towards it and the cringey 'Lionesses ' tag they use

No I mean no talent. Hemp I used to rate but she's lost her dribbling ability and Lauren James is a now and again do something impressive player who today to be fair played the match hampered by injury. They won because they dug in and because Spain played like a latter day Arsene Wenger side trying to walk the ball in the net

I just think it's wishful thinking about the attendances. It would be brilliant if womens football was full of sumptuous football and enjoyable to watch but its 9 times out of 10 a stodgy affair where you can wander off make yourself a sandwich or tea and not miss any discernable action

Fair enough. I'm not a massive fan of the modern men's game either so maybe I'm not the right person to critique football at all

Don't think they can completely "fabricate" it? Books still have to be submitted to the FA etc so that money has to have exchanged hands at least? The real "value" is debatable, and does change, just ask Moshiri.

Yeah. If we were valuing our Women's team compared to Chelsea I'd say we might optimistically say up to £100m at most. Can't see the sale only being a "small" stake. Even 33% would value us the same as Chelsea.

By fabrication I meant it is fabricated by someone outside the club. Club has not released how much the sale price was and probably won't until the financial report comes out (in March, isn't it?). 60 million is pure guesswork that has taken on a life of it's own based on what Chelsea got for their deal & the difference in turnover of each women's team.

Ah I see. Wouldn't be surprised if it's not in the same ball park tbh. Everyone will be using the Chelsea sale as a year stick now, those outside clubs, and clubs themselves trying to work out how much they can con ppl into paying/accepting their team is worth.

As I said situation is completely different. TFG want to sell a part of the women's team to investors so the price they ask would have to be in line of that price. Is our women's team really worth the same as a midtable Championship club? Their revenue is 5-10 times bigger. Even League One's average revenue is much bigger. League Two average revenue is at least in the same ballpark. So women's game would have to grow a lot to justify that price in a financial perspective. Of course if you can find someone willing to put, say 10 million for a minority shareholder role just to support women's football, that's fine but otherwise I find it hard to figure out why someone would invest. Unless they really, really believe women's game will kick off massively in the next few years. Like, our attendance to go up from a few thousand to 20k.

You make that up or have those figures been reported somewhere?

Which ones? Chelsea sold their women's team for 200 million. That was reported.

Revenues in WSL are actually lower than what I read somewhere according to Deloitte. Average revenue is 5.4 million.
