Everton Ticketing Changes

One ST holder, is me. Two kids as FB+ members, and I can't buy, assign or even enter the fr!gging ballot to do any of the above.
So unless they are of age and know how to work a phone or computer, have their own login, they ain't going to a game.
Can't only be me in this situation.
Same for me….

My eldest is a ST holder with my wife and I, and our youngest if FB+ member only.

I cannot see anyway we can get him a ticket and especially sitting together.

Would mean my wife or I would have to sit somewhere else if this was even possible (entering ballot etc).

So I am just not bothering.

Phew, it's not just me!

I agree the prices are a joke, but I would expect it to be a good few seasons before we started to see a significant number of empty seats due to bad performances.

Football seems to be more popular than ever and the clubs and owners know this and are happy exploiting fan loyalty. Not just Everton but at nearly every club. They know they've got leverage on us all because with so many thousands not even able to get tickets each week, anyone who takes a stand and doesn't go will be easily replaced by another fan willing to pay.

Look at the demand at West Ham, they even hate their new stadium but have been selling over 60K tickets each season. Be interesting to see how long it takes them to start staying away. I suspect it won't be too far off as they did recently get the European Trophy and a couple of top 7 finishes to delay the fan unrest.
Not sure in long run demand will last, Premier Leagues model was once top 4, then you had clubs trying to get into top 4, Villa, Everton, Newcastle, Spurs, then City. Then you had clubs who had UEFA cup ambitions Bolton, Blackburn, Fulham, West Ham and you had those smaller clubs trying to stay up. Also game was still mainly a working class support, and it was actually enjoyable to go to games. GP was only full because we sold ridiculous amount of season tickets and there was only a select amount of tickets available. Our supporters bonds have come through sitting by same people week in week out, going to same pubs, Chippies round ground, past memories at GP. With all this gone, and transport problems i doubt interest will still be there unless there's a change in fortunes. Add to that Everton deliberately forcing fans to get memberships, because you can't pass tickets to non members. All of this leaves a bad taste, it's just not the same Everton I fell in love with. Fans have passed season tickets to family members for years and it hasn't been an issue, it's why we kept so many supporters and younger Scouse Blues have had chance to go to game.

These ticket prices are a disgrace. Loads are going to be priced out of going to our new stadium.
It was utterly inevitable. We’ve built a shiny new stadium. The powers that be didn’t do that to fit more fans in or because our beloved home was getting old. They did it for more revenue.
So, I have the greatest of sympathy for those struggling to meet the new prices, but, if you cheered for the new stadium, what the hell did you expect!!?

It is always the way.

More money, shiny new stadium, elite signings-Hurrah

I have to pay more because the above need to be paid for- Boo

In principle I'm happy with the new balloting system but as some others have said, it'd be better if the club applied an algorithm to give priority across the season to those previously unsuccessful. Sadly, in reality though, I'll struggle to afford up to £140 for every home game so will have to be selective in the matches I apply for.

Evertonians: "We accept that we need to move to a modern stadium to increase matchday revenue."

Also Evertonians: "Wait, what? I have to pay more to go the game?!?"
This is just a silly counter-argument.

The new pricing structure puts our ticket prices higher than LFCs - by some distance (£61 is their highest).

Now given that the two clubs share a similar demographic in terms of local fan base, Communities that score highest in the country for deprivation and poverty, you would think the price points would be at the very worst the same. Now given that LFC are also wining trophies and we have been flirting with relegation, I can’t see how the club can justify charging more.

My personal opinion is that an adult ticket should be capped at £30. Like away games.

My worry is what this means if we did qualify for Europe? Are we looking at similar prices to Villa (£90-£100)? That completely prices me as a season ticket holder out of attending all of those games.

I doubt very much that Liverpool's match going fans are as local as Everton's; those inside Anfield will be way better off on average than those who'll attend BMD...which makes the price hikes even more scandalous.

But we have Evertonians on here 'comfortable' with the greatest rip off in the club's history.

I don’t disagree but just trying to keep the argument at its most comparable in terms of actual data available.

It’s crap prices have gone up but they’re not going to have a new ground and fail to maximise wealth are they ?

I was genuinely quite impressed pleasantly surprised in the changes in ST prices I thought it was gonna be a lot worse but the owners are gonna want cash and these rises feel inevitable

That a more wealthy fanbase across town who have just seen success are paying less than success starved and economically less able fans is a stain on the club. The People's Club.

Can I clarify that there is now two tiers of membership, where you can buy one ticket each, and no general sale at all? How are you supposed to attend with family or friends now? I don't dislike the ballot idea for members but if I'm right about the rest of it then it's completely ruined any hope of me planning a visit as a non local fan.
