Hahahaha why did it take you till 12.50am to reply with that? Had a bevy have we hard case

Analysing any part of a pre-season game is over analysis.
In the first matches after Moyes returned to the club Patterson came on as a sub most matches for Lindstrøm playing in exactly the type of position and formation you describe.Tbh, I can't think of a single instance where we've played a formation of form of tactical structure that would suit Patterson since he's been here (I.E. wing-backs or something that allows him to overlap)
How many minutes in total? In the first matches after Moyes returned to the club Patterson came on as a sub most matches for Lindstrøm playing in exactly the type of position and formation you describe.
Dunno, are you moving the goalposts from "can't think of a single instance" to "he didn't get enough minutes?"How many minutes in total?
What match was that?I mean, there were people on this thread waxing lyrical about a scuffed pass that evaded virtually everyone before landing at the feet of someone who passed it into the back of a championship teams net past their third choice keeper the other day but I guess over analysis was OK on that occasion.
Glass half empty then in here. Gotcha….this isn’t RAWK, a happy slappy chat room where all our players are the best in the world, it’s an Everton forum where we can express opinions on players.
It’s an absolutely nonsense statement you make because all of us want Patterson to do well, I’d be chuffed if the penny drops and he suddenly looks good enough but until that happens we chat about his weaknesses rather than cover them up.
I doubt much thought was put into it in all honestyThought it was interesting that Moyes had Patterson as the right centre back and Garner as the wing back when Patterson is the better attacker and Garner the better defender. I expect height had something to do with it but also felt a bit like a test for Patterson.
You know what I'm getting at, don't be so pedanticDunno, are you moving the goalposts from "can't think of a single instance" to "he didn't get enough minutes?"
He signed for us in January 2022... I'm all for supporting players but lets not pretend he hasn't had any chances to learn from mistakes and improve in the time he has been here.Just one mistake leading to goal in friendly match and people don't want to give him a chance to learn his lesson...
Coleman and Young have plenty of them along their career.
I still don't get why Moyes does not give him a go RM...Geezer is an attacking right back, makes an error playing right of a back three in a pre-season friendly and now he's a write off. Give me a break
It was an absolute brain fart from the lad but let's not forget that he did well to recover in the first instance, from a just-as-awful mistake from Alcaraz on the half way line. I'd rather he made a mistake that was that easy to correct rather than having something more complex or systematic to his game
Tbh, I can't think of a single instance where we've played a formation of form of tactical structure that would suit Patterson since he's been here (I.E. wing-backs or something that allows him to overlap)
And listen, I'm not saying he's great or should be our starting right back for this season. But I am saying that football is not so binary as "player is not good therefore player is s***e"
I still don't get why Moyes does not give him a go RM...
Maybe he first wants to get a proper RB signed.
Agreed, there was a couple if times in the first half when McNiel and the other waste of space Garner had crossing opportunities and hit the first defender with them, feel a bit sorry for the lad, he's been injured a lot which hasn't helped his cause.Sad but true mate. Seems a lot of fans are delighted when he cocks up. Often he hasn’t helped himself, but it’s over the top.
Other players can make mistakes and nothing is said at all, even though all players make mistakes.
Young made some horrendous mistakes and cost us goals but people were acting like he was the second coming of Cafu.
Keane has thrown away goals and points but people were happy we re-signed him even though we all know he’s a total shithouse car crash awful cb.
Patterson is criticised and piled on every single appearance, even when he hasn’t had a bad game.
Best for him and Everton if he moves on now imo, let’s try for another specialist rb. Get aznou over the line and at least there’s another option in the meantime.
