Transfer Rumour Malick Fofana

Is it just us that shifted him over to the left though? His most impressive season in terms of goals and assists was in the Championship where according to this, he played completely down the middle. Striker, second striker/10 and attacking midfield. Interesting stat here is he got more assists than goals playing as centre forward, and more goals than assists playing in the 10!

That's Ndiayes best position and why we are after a left winger .

He won't go Liverpool, they're buying Isak with Diaz money. Bayern won't sign him after signing Diaz.

Those are only 2 clubs linked with him other than us. We need to meet Lyon's valuation and then we might actually have a shot at getting this done.
Hope to God they don't get Isaak. Or Fofana. Watched them them the other night and the speed they've got is frightening. I know it's only pre season but it's scary

Too all the naysayers in this thread, once we sign our new left wing king there are two rules you must follow.

A) you may not celebrate him being signed (any statment showing emotion over the level of "pleased" will be met with scorn).

B) everytime he touches the ball you must close your eyes and not open them till the ball has left a 5 foot radius around him (please nominate a family member or loved one to notify you when its okay to open you're eyes).

Failure to follow these two rules will be met with scorn and scorn can compound. So failure to follow rule A will be met with 2nd level scorn.

Thank you

I think Moyes will want to play Fofana on the left and Ndiaye as a number 10 slightly to the left with Aznou bombing forward as a left wing back , which means O'Brien will stay as a right back / but it becomes a back 3 when Aznou /Myko attacking..
Or we just buy a RB

Well i said 3/4. So lets say 4….that would mean 8 new players.

Thats quite a lot, especially for us.

8 in no way is a lot for us mate.

Just to put into context
24/25 - 8 players in
23/24 - 5 players in
22/23 - 8 players in
21/22 - 8 players in
20/21 - 7 players in
19/20 - 8 players in
18/19 - 6 players in
17/18 - 12 players in
16/17 - 8 players in
15/16 - 7 players in
14/15 - 9 players in
13/14 - 9 players in

That's pretty much averaging out at 8 players a season over a period of 12 seasons time.

That pretty much takes us from up to when Moyes left.

A few of Moyes more active years to show context of why maybe he's fine with a large amount of incoming players at once.

07/08 - 11 players in
05/06 - 11 players in

So the season after Rooney left Moyes did a massive rebuild, followed 2 seasons later by another one.

People often throw out the 9-10 players is way too much we will never do that, in fact we had e on multiple occasions.

Funny mate i was thinking about Grealish earlier and since the Fofana link, its clear to me now we're after a left winger, i just assumed it would be Illy and McNeill on that side - but doubt it now and we have an alternative for Illy.

I think Grealish comes, if Fofana doesn't - be one late in the window.

Pretty certain that if we can recruit line we want then we will shift on McNeil

Hes right footed mate, i actually think he could be more creative on the right side on his stronger foot - he didn't hace many assists on create as much others last season, he may on his more natural side. But agree he need the full back.

9 goals last year though, thats the type of return Cahill used to get for us centrally in that hybrid 10 role centrally.

Jave to say im surprised we've gone for a left winger - with so much work to do i assumed they'd leave Illy there, but hes either going to be 10 or 7 even we get Fofana and i also think Grealish is live now.

McAtee i think may take Garners spot if he comes mate.

Mcatee sitting in a midfield as an 8 is one that's interested me if that could be the idea - kinda like the way Moyes took a relatively young Arteta who was naturally an attacking mid and moulded him into a top quality central mid.
