It depends on the circumstances mate. I think I said a couple of weeks ago that if I was the owner, having shelled out as much as they have, I would have wanted the USA tour to be a showcase, pulling media connections and agents to get us plenty of coverage over there and insist on a good showing. Obviously that's not happening, and what's occurring over there may be perceived as detrimental to the group's public perception, never mind just Everton's. Depending on the brief that the Friedkin's had issued to the Everton element, I don't think it would be a shock if a head or two rolled as a consequence of turning up without a squad and faring poorly, if that's the case. Someone made a decision to let Thelwell go and make a transition on that front, knowing all staff wouldn't be in place until September. Even Moyes, lacking central defenders, supposedly chose an aging Keane rather than what had been lined up. Was that a hill to die on for him career-wise ? He may not look blameless here. Who knows, but they probably won't tolerate a circus on their own turf.
