I agree and this is the comfort blanket for me if it doesn’t come off. It might simply be an opportunist move after being told he was available, but you’re totally correct, our current best attacking player has Fofana’s position nailed down. Yes Fofana CAN play other side, Ndiaye CAN play centrally etc etc, but you’re again moving players around to fit others in.

We’re very well stocked on that left hand side, that isn’t the most immediate place that springs to mind to strengthen. Not saying I wouldn’t sign him mind! If he comes, great. Obviously a talent and it’ll cause a nice problem for the manager to have.

What it won’t do, is solve the ongoing issue of the right wing and again moving players there that don’t seem to play their best football there. That’s why I’d prefer Kubo personally but seems like that one is a no go unfortunately.
