England started relatively brightly, however since about 10 minutes in they've looked leggy, lacking intesity and with some dubious decision-making.

To be fair, first 5 minutes, Spain looked terrified of a high/bouncing ball over the top. Defo shouldn’t be Plan A but I’m not against the occasional hoof to get us up the pitch and catch them off guard.

Personally, this is currently the most significant difference between the male and female games: intensity. Technically, the women's game is good to watch.

It's grown in physicality, too. The key difference is the pace and intensity compared to the men's game, with people having far more time on the game.

Many of these women are technically superior to many male players in the top seven or eight tiers of the game, and have better intelligence.

But if you go and watch a team like Marine, for example, the pace the game is played is chalk and cheese, and for me that's where the excitement comes in.
