Everton 0-3 Bournemouth. Sat July 26th. 9 Pm.

I saw the result and feared the worst. I only saw the highlights but was surprised and pleased to see how we seemed to boss the first half with some excellent movement going forward. A better delivery from the wings and we may well have gone into the second half in the lead.

The second half proved the need for reinforcements but overall I'm encouraged, knowing there will be signings. Better late than never I suppose.

It's not just about the result. Its that we have a smaller squad than what we finished last season with and as it currently stands, we wouldn't be able to compete

I dont think the penny is dropping with a lot of people and its bury head in sand time. We couldnt even handle two centre halves missing yest, we're shifting players around and having to play a formation unknown because we couldnt cope.
Who trusts this club to bring in 5 or 6 players in the next two weeks.
You're right. We are a few hamstrings/pulled muscles away from not being able to compete. These ridiculous posts about dont panic lol. Its not panic. Its realisation that we're giving ourselves very little chance right now.

Were they that good? We battered them first half, they battered us second when we ran out of juice. 1 brilliant goal, 2 completely avoidable goals.
2nd half he fetched pace on & we cannot cope with pace - Gana Guaye tired, & both fullbacks were horrendous for us .... Garner looks like a bog standard midfielder too .... Dwight MacNeil tired etc etc the heat got to us they used 22 players - We were lacking in key departments which made them look good....

Me too mate. I thought we were passing it and moving well in the first half. Encouraged by Tim, Illy and Beto especially. Unfortunately when we looked less offensive as we tired in the second half Bournemouth got more opportunities to get at our back 'line' and our frailties were there for all to see.

Times change alright. To those saying chill out there are signings incoming these days its an eternity before a new player goes into the side gone are the days when Dave Thomas and George Wood signed on Friday into the team the following day.
Looking like another game of catch up for the first couple of months.
Do we ever learn.

Why ? If you believe that and a new stadium are reasons to join or not you're deluded. Its about money. Pure and simple.
You're right of course but don't tell me that if terms offered to a player by a team who are at sixes and sevens are exactly the same as a well run on the up team, he's not going to the crap club, new stadium or whatever.

Going by the finishing Premier League table last season, this was the tougher game and WHU and MU are games we should be getting points from.

However it’s a pre season and it shows the management team where this squad is in their preparation work. They’ll know we need to step it up a gear or two.

As do the recruitment team this week.

Thats even if we sign enough. As some seem to think will happen. I wouldnt hold my breath.
This is a bit different to other years. Other years we've been looking about replacing for quality. Everton as of right now have done what mainly Everton do. Released lots of players and not replaced the numbers.
On very thin ground here Everton.

WTF are we loaning a lad like Roman Dixon out to a League One club when he's umpteen times better than Patterson?

Moyes has always had a terrible record loaning players out who are ready to step up.

But doing it to keep that useless get Patterson in the team takes the 'kin biscuit.

He's really not Dave. Neither of them are good enough and both need shipping out.
