The way I read this is:
1. We offered very close to what Lyon would accept so they’ve allowed us to speak to their player
2. Fofana is interested but there have also been rumours of Bayern and the RS wanting him so he’s waiting out to see if our interest triggers any champions league clubs to make a move before he agrees anything, similar to how we had a medical with Gabriel before Arsenal came in
