Everton 0-3 Bournemouth. Sat July 26th. 9 Pm.

Were they that good? We battered them first half, they battered us second when we ran out of juice. 1 brilliant goal, 2 completely avoidable goals.

We did play OK in the first period of the first half, but was pretty equal by half-time.

They have beat us now, what, 4, 5 consecutive games on the spin? Probably what makes it feel worse.

I think it has come to pass that the days of the school of science or the dogs of war are at an end and we are just a common or garden relegation team up until the point were we are actually relegated.
I wasn`t alive during the School of Science era but I wish I was... The Dogs of War I remember too well in the 90s and is a bit embarrassing if I`m honest because we were that crap we only had fight to save us. Which it did and ironically landed us our last trophy, I`d love to see some sort of renaissance of the School of Science but Dogs of War should be left in the past.

I regret the day Royle decided to step down, we were definitely on the up under his management. As I say many times, so many false dawns at this club, every time we say "This one is different" but we always just end up just existing in the Premier League with a few narrow escapes, not really upsetting any of the top teams.

This club is a soft touch...

That is it, if anyone see's that any different they were not watching the match. The one thing is so obvious and has been addressed we need players brought in urgently, if we don't we are going to struggle as the likes of Patterson and Onyango should be nowhere near the team.

Yeh if Patterson just cleared the ball like a normal human and O'Brien doesn't make his mistake it's a 1-0 defeat and whilst disappointing, far less of an alarm to some fans. It's not like they waltzed through us 3 times.

Always say that when Royle walked away any ambition to be a top club went with him.
We were just happy to excist in the prem not compete from then on , maybe with the odd blimp for a season or two afterwards.

This is one of the reasons I don't think we should play against other prem teams in pre season, you can't help then think that we're rubbish and going to finish so far behind teams we play. Glad to see Pickford agrees. There's a whole world of teams, why play teams we're competing against just to give them a confidence boost.

Their manager after the game said they needed to up their pressing and game in general second half. They did. I thought we played ok first half. We didnt dominate them. They were creating chances before they scored early in the second half. You could see it coming. As much as people dont like to admit it i think they upped it after HT and we never. They only made two changes at the break so it shouldnt have changed the game that much. We obviously ran out of gas after 65/70 mins. Game had gone by then when they had the luxury of throwing on many fresh legs.
Its not a major concern but even when we played ok first half we never scored. We've one goal pre season. That was a penalty.
Still got the west ham and united game to see where we are. I need to be convinced a bit more that we've got a bit more to offer. Even for pre season.

I think with the squad being so thin, the heat, and Moyes not making as many changes as possible when the game had gone last night, then West Ham and United games will be worse.

I think you might be right. The limited squad struggled in this first game of 3. We've still 2 to go.
They've invited 4 premier league teams to this mini tournament clearly thinking they are fully equiped to handle it.
Everton arent.
