Everton 0-3 Bournemouth. Sat July 26th. 9 Pm.

I think thats the point of the reaction tbh. 20 days before the season starts we've entered this mini tournament and it really hit home when the graphics came up on screen that Everton couldnt even fill the bench. That we're two injured centre halves away from playing either midfielders as wingbacks or players who are quite clearly not up to it/ready. I found it actualy a bit embarrassing that the other 3 sides could change their whole side and still play like for like. Not only could Everton not they even started the game with players out of position.
I dont think its a laughable over reaction. The club hasnt a great track record of getting things like this right. We've basically a squad of 15/16 a few weeks going into the season. It needs to pull its finger out. And fast.

Agree with this. We're going to end up in a position where we underperform until mid September - October because we haven't got the players signed. It's all well and good saying the window closes on a certain date but the lack of players puts us at a massive disadvantage in the early weeks of the season.

It's a money spinner for the club - but TBF we have sent out without transfers coming in a very weak squad it was a wee bit embarrassing TBH but it's only a friendly tournament at the end of the day!
Joking me aren`t you, the Florida cup is the only success I`ve seen in the last 30 years!!!

I thought we played brilliantly the first half going forward, we have some real talent. If Barry (who looked lively) can add regular goals we’ll be more than ok with Tarkowski and Branthwaire to sure up the defence.

It’s preseason with our 2 best CB missing. Not disheartened yet

Nothing we didn't know before the game ,

Don't overreact .
Do you honestly think any player gives a toss about how a team is doing in a friendly.
You could look at it another way , any half decent player knows he gets game time if he signs.
You can't fix it overnight, new owners, board in place a few weeks as regards to tranfer team ect.
Especially with so many players out of contract all at once, thank the last board for allowing that to happen not this lot.
No I don`t think they care about 1 friendly, but to not win in 3 yet, 2 against lower leagues and Bournemouth only finished 9th, not like they were challenging for Champions League. Moyes was saying he could target 6th like when he went back to West Ham, 11th at best even with the new additions unless Moyes can create what Bournemouth and the teams above us has got in 3 weeks, don`t forget Spurs and Utd will be better this season so they will go above us...

3 more friendlies, all tough, how do you sell a club that could be winless in them 6 and still doesn`t score a goal in open play despite playing a club from League 2 and the Championship.

Maybe I am missing something, however our first game is not for another twenty-two days - yes, over three weeks.

Who is to say that we haven't brought additions in by then? Only twenty-four hours ago, the links were vague, and now seems fairly likely and progressed.

The club is working hard behind the scenes, but the days of regular leaks coming out from the club are gone. It's not as if we start in a day or two!

The result is deeply disappointing, but not the end of the world.

What's hard to accept is just how good Bournemouth are and how are we going to bridge that gap?

The hierarchy of Everton have to be very careful here - for all their grand plans for the stadium and crazy prices, we won't accept timid capitulations. We are not an elite product yet and if what we witnessed last night is a sign of things to come there will be deep unhappiness.

That being said - I trust that diligent work is being done behind the scenes and am sure they have been trying to get players in. I know there is an issue that players we are looking at, are looking at their options, champions league clubs etc BUT let's be honest, the Brightons and Bournmouths of this world have built teams with players you had not heard of and don't seem to struggle getting players over the line.

Losing is tough, but as long as the team goes down fighting its fine. 3 - 0 now, hate that scoreline,

Dreading the next few games.

Were they that good? We battered them first half, they battered us second when we ran out of juice. 1 brilliant goal, 2 completely avoidable goals.

I think we are agreeing here mate, just some of the post seems over the top to me. The starting cbs were a joke.

Totally agree the squad is threadbare and it is a little embarrassing that Moyes couldn’t make many changes, but we have a while left in the window to rectify things.

Not close to ideal but worn loose my shiz just yet.

5 players bare minimum. We better get a scooby on.
I`d say more... IMO we need a starting 2 x RBs (1st choice and a decent young back up) & LB, 2 x CMs both starting quality, 2 x RW and a LW = 8. Get them 8 in and allow Iroebugnam, Armstrong and Chermiti to go out on loan and sell Patterson. I`ve illustrated what I mean below...

If we can get a Keane, Garner and Beto upgrade in the future we will be well on our way.

That is it, if anyone see's that any different they were not watching the match. The one thing is so obvious and has been addressed we need players brought in urgently, if we don't we are going to struggle as the likes of Patterson and Onyango should be nowhere near the team.
