The Dead Thread


Ray French the BBC Rugby League (I know, ‘Wool sport’) commentator passed away earlier today.

Had a very distinctive voice and style, certainly the voice of rugby league for a long period of time
Sad to hear this. I grew up in sunny St Helens and Ray was a very respected rugby league and union man, as well as a teacher at Cowley High. Had a few very hazy nights out in the town with some friends of friends that included his son, Gary, also an ex union pro.
 
On average, approximately 150,000 people die each day worldwide from various causes. Cardiovascular diseases and infectious diseases are the leading causes of death, followed by cancer, respiratory diseases, and other specific conditions like asthma and suicide

I honestly would have thought that number would be higher.
I know, but that's what I found interesting, today's cohort all shuffled off after I had posted it.
