The player is still very young and just may struggle in a CL set up where generally clubs try to buy players who are ready to influence big games now.
Spend a few years at a club like Everton, get plenty of games, plenty of experience and in time if Everton can't match his ambitions then he could get a really big move.

We see that the big clubs with the big budgets can buy more or less who they want.
Going to a club like Chelsea could ruin his career if it went wrong.

I think that would be his thinking if he joins Everton.

If Aznou and Fofana signed and both reached their potential.

We'd be one of those champions league clubs.

If we are going for players like this we have to have a bit of luck and pull the trigger quickly (hoping the bigger clubs are half asleep) which isn’t our style. We would probably also need to end up overpaying and offer higher wages than we would normally offer (hasn’t gone well for us in the past)
It’s a pain that once an a fee is agreed and is made official richer clubs come straight in and offer more and higher wages than what we are offering but I suppose that’s the way it goes.
It’s a catch 22, we need to start winning things and get into Europe more but we aren’t gonna do that without a better calibre of players in the squad which we can’t attract.

Remember Hammond is new. So we dont know if hes the type to pull the trigger quickly and get things done.

Sounds like weve got one done and hopefully not far off a second today.

I wouldn’t mate, but then I said the same as you about Delap. They probably get offered more money and are all delusional enough to believe they’ll be one of the very few who does manage to cement a place in the XI. Delap already looks like he may be second fiddle to Pedro.

Not sure how you could’ve possibly come to this conclusion because we’ve had a bid rejected. If anything this is far more encouraging that we are serious about this deal than a tweet from Fabrizio Romano.

to me ( anyone ) you shouldn’t agree a fee unless to you know a player will want to come

and you shouldn’t agree wages with a player without agreeing a fee
