Everton Ticketing Changes

But that was the original 'sold as' deal with the memberships.
No it wasn’t, the club just said FB+ would be the top “Priority access”, this does not equate to “first come first served” or a guarantee of a ticket, and the club never implied it would. If people bought a FB+ on the assumption that it would guarantee them a ticket, that’s not the club’s fault. All FB+ going into a ballot is the fairest thing to do, and removes all the usual 10am website nonsense that people were continually moaning about last season.

People have also suggested that Everton should have capped or limited the number of FB+ memberships… but then you would just have had the people who missed out on buying one saying “why did they cap the number of FB+ memberships, now I have no chance of getting a ticket at all. This club’s a joke. I’m disgusted!”.

What we’re doing now is what practically every other well supported club does, where demand outstrips supply. Name me one big team in the Premier League and I am confident that it is likely that they have the same situation regarding membership levels / ballots. A ballot for all top level members is by far the fairest way of doing things, but still people still find a way to moan and whinge about it.

This fan base man 😂. The club literally can’t win as far as some of you are concerned.

They should have announced/confirmed ballot system before repositioning and selling memberships.

Hold on, no one's suggesting a guaranteed ticket - just to do what they've always done with the memberships regarding non-balloting of available tickets after STHs were sorted. They cited today the Southampton game last season as an example of what's to come but there was no hint of that in the Forever Blue membership pitch. They pulled a fast one.

We get it, presumably you benefit more this way than others who dont. The new methodology moves toward you as opposed to the longstanding way of issuing tickets which didn't. But there's no need to absolve the club from what it's done. And if it hasn't pulled a fast one then FAB must have it wrong too then...not to mention hundreds on here?

At the very least the club should be responding to any FAB complaint by conceding something in return to Forever Blue members: that they'll hand them a free tour of the new stadium to make up for the change in ticketing sale strategy. Members already get it 20% off, so let them make that 100% as a matter of goodwill.

They should make amends in some way.

Why, it makes no difference at all, this is just a fairer way of doing things and doing it this way still gives “priority access” to those with a FB+, which is exactly what they were sold as.

Last season there were loads of people moaning that all the tickets were sold out at 10:03 on a Monday as they couldn’t get on the website etc. Now it’s just a different set of fans moaning.

I’ve heard it being compared to last seasons change to 15+ getting priority, now THAT was naughty, but this is totally different as it gives everyone with a FB+ the exact same chance as everyone else.

Yeah the “guarantee ticket” thing wasn’t really in response to you mate, it’s something I’ve seen others mention so I take that back in terms of what you said.

I covered most of my response above in my response to Danny’s message so I won’t repeat myself. But just to clarify it doesn’t affect me at all as I’m a season ticket holder, to me it seems the fairest way of doing things and I genuinely don’t see what the issue is.

The club haven’t pulled a fast one at all, they haven’t moved the goal posts, they are still offering Priority Access to all FB+ members, which is what they said they would.

Just to add, yeah it was naughty of the club to say “in consultation with fans”; when it appears it wasn’t. That’s not to say I have an issue with the actual methods they’re implementing

I appreciate your comment mate.

The one thing that cuts across any case made for the club concerning the definition of the word 'priority' being left vague: the way they doled out the Roma tickets. That was first come first served and so there's a shock to the system that this is now abandoned as it looked like it was the method to be used this season.

Overall, I think they suckered fans into the memberships with a false prospectus. 🤷‍♂️

Fair enough a ballot, but let the fans pick the seat if successful.

Stupid random allocation doesn’t help anyone
