Everton Ticketing Changes

Being randomly assigned seats is atrocious. We could pick them for the last game at Goodison, why can’t they do it like that? Also should have announced this before charging everyone double the price for memberships this year.

I’m mostly indifferent about the change to ballot, since membership has never been a guarantee of a ticket (though for lower profile matches, and provided you were ready when the window opened, it kinda was) but I don’t like just being assigned seats. That’s the bit that, I feel, robs fans of agency and makes it feel a bit disconnected.
I get this point, as it will mean people have less say so. But again, with the principle of a ballot, you can't let people select tickets because it'll mean...

... you will still have the issue of setting a time people have to get online for a set time and pick first-come-first served to get preferential seats.

If that's the case, leave it as it is. Here, you get to choose two price-bands and seating areas you prefer, so most should get at least the area they want.

I have a few RS friends who get tickets in their ballot quite regularly.

I agree completely. So my Dad has a season ticket in an area that appeared, from the Roma game, to have some non-season ticket seats near it. And at Goodison, when I was able to buy tickets, I could occasionally buy the tickets right next to/in front of/behind, meaning we could sit together. That has been completely taken away from me now, and to be honest might make me reconsider bothering going to as many games as I had planned to.

Sportsbreaks etc have an allocation for all home games why give non members preference when members have to go into a ballot. Disgusting!!!

People who buy with Sportsbreaks pay a premium to do so.

Just like you're paying a premium at £60, to have more access than the people who pay £30, or £0.

I think the likes of them, and SeatUnique are valuable in allowing a way to access tickets without paying for access to a lottery.

Done properly, really properly without system cock-ups, and provided they use the short window during and after the ballot to weed out the nonsense applicants, I think this is fine and fair?

Some specific use cases will lose out as above, but others will gain as is always the way. You can pick 2 preferred areas AND specify if you want to be considered for other areas if your 2 choices don’t win. Specific seat picking? I think most applicants will be happy to win tickets and all seats in an “area” will be great.

What happens if a group of Plus members all enter the ballot for everyone in their group, then if more than one of the group “wins” some of them can just back out before payment? Will they track that an applicant has already been added to a different members application? Should do. My golf club’s app can stop me booking a tee time if I’m already on another group that day set up by a different member.
