I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that we will see some big incomings the week before the Roma friendly so that Dan and the Texans can swan into Liverpool for the match like conquering Roman charioteers.

Alright, maybe less of the Roman stuff, but you get the drift. They'll be keen to watch Roma A versus Roma B among cheering hoardes.
They're sitting in the away end that day apparently

If they were clever they would make several teams good and host pre-season tournaments for teams that they own. Bonus if they have good players from that country in each of the teams.

As someone outside this country now Dave, I can say you are utterly wrong, the league is seen as the best in the world by a mile.

You are also deluded if you think investment short of around 2bn quid and a total waving of all regs will change that.

Look at how Newcastle - the richest club in the world are viewed

Silverware does equal statis though, so you think be owning the first Italian club to win a European trophy in twenty years was an easier achievement than getting an English club to win the LC or The same cup Moyes - and Roma won?
The PL is seen as the biggest spectacle, not the best league in the world.

As for your other point: you're underlining the one I make: that this lot can never see Everton as a means of achieving the type of status they seek. Only a sovereign wealth fund can do that. As you point out Newcastle achieved silverware for their SWF...and now they have the chance to push through the glass ceiling.

Roma is - and can only be - their principal investment for success. All multi-club ownership models have one club at the top of the hierarchy: that's Roma for TFG. That's where the clearest route to prestige on an international stage that they crave is located. To not recognise that is folly. I suspect after this summer window that point will be forcefully made.

Will they be in attendance tomorrow… no excuse really is there.

Also does that fella who run the city group can’t think of his name, turn up at any of their perceived lesser clubs like Girona?

Who's even arsed if they attend games or not? I just want them to fund us and keep the club healthy, not bothered if they want to watch the footie or not.

Define success for TFG. Is it making money or winning things? Everton in the PL will be the cash cow, currently Roma would have a better chance of winning a pot.

what international prestige are you waffling about?

you clearly have no idea about global viewing and engagement figures of the premier League compared to all the other top 5 European ones, let's just say it dominates - it's not even close either.

Italy is behind Spain and Germany btw just ahead of the french league.

Or you my be talking about CL - were the Italian teams more often than not are whipping boys - so e prestige there. Or the Eufa cup - yanno the one won three of the last 5 by English clubs, or the conference league - one won by west ham the year after Roma ended a twenty year drought of Italian clubs in Europe - nah seem to remember you slated that cup as worthless during many of your posts slagging Moyes off, so obviously no prestige there either.

As for how much international prestige winning the league in Italy gives you, I'd bet anything you couldn't name who won it last season never mind any of the past five before.

But yeah keep deluding yourself that Roma is somehow the route to the international prestige they crave - not sure where exactly you came up with that from either but oh well, apparently they are Elon Musk like now in there attention seeking desires.

You trot the old chestnut out of wait and see ofc, that's wonderful because it allows you to not wait and cry and moan and in general attack the club, the ow we or whoever else you feel like with zero proof yourself. And ofc if in the future you are proven wrong you'll simply change tack, not acknowledge it, and just attack some other things instead.

How about before criticising yourself you wait and see?

It’s strange they haven’t given they do attend Roma games.

I don’t think I would really be asking this if we were sat here in a much healthier position squad wise with some intent to be a club who wins.

All about perception.

Making money eventually from the PL by stabilising Everton to sell on; Roma is their club they seek success from.

They've seen Everton as a very good bet to increase the value of with this state of the art stadium that. If they prove it can be sweated by football and non-football events - they'll make a killing on selling in the future.

In terms of prestige, what does it matter if the PL get way more viewers and profits if you have a mid-table football club that wins f.a.?

Yes, it's a very valuable side hustle for them in terms of selling Everton on 5 years or so from now, but do you really think they want to be investing for success in Everton given the scale of investment that would take.

Just step back and have a think about it.
