Damned good start, long way to go but England have put India under pressure. India's only tactic is to slowly bat England out of the game and it means even as batsman get in they don't really go anywhere

Crawley/Duckett have a better opening partnership average than Cook/Strauss and at a far far better rate.

I also think there is a good chance Crawley would go well in Oz

Crawley is an intelligent batsman, which is what we will need against the ol' foe.

Tbf, they've played less than half the games that Strauss and Cook did, Crawley's average playing away is 26.43, only marginally better in Australia 27.66.

A difficult decision I think to enforce the follow on. Time I suppose was the main factor to try and go for the win. How often do you see the second innings effort better than the first, and they were 192-1.

I think Crawley could really shine in Oz this Ashes coming up. He’s a lot more experienced now and he’s really strong cutting and pulling above waist high.

With the Australian wickets generating pace and a lot of bounce, he could really excel over there this time.
