minor things that make you fume

Windows 10 is about to die, and windows 11 required updated hardware. Updates switch off mid October. Someone pee in bill gates coffee please.
Apparently my PC, or more precisely the processor, is not supported by Windows 11 according to Microsoft.

Ever so slightly boiled my piss that one as it's entirely adequate for my needs but I really don't like the idea of using an unpatched / unsupported Windows 10 while shopping online or anything involving finances.

Council, Housing Benefits. It’s been a continuous problem for the past couple of years but as we’re a charity it’s now getting dangerously problematic. We don’t have unlimited funds and can’t carry their debt much longer.
If you haven't already done so you need to raise it with them, and the dire financial consequences if something is not sorted sharpish. It's what I did, until I retired, and, from experience, most of the problems came from partially completed applications which were assumed to be complete - but were not. Then, of course, they may have backlogs...

It’s being addressed at top level now, lack of staff and a backlog of applications is the problem. 1 person moved into my hostel in December 2024, the rent is just over £1300 a month (it’s supported housing), we submit all applications as soon as a resident moves in, we have still yet to receive a single payment for her. Another lad moved in January 2025, for some reason they are only paying £360 a month for him, the same with a couple of others…. Over the months this amount adds up very quickly, we have 20 residents over 2 hostels, the problem grows very quickly.

Of course not but Microsoft are extending security for Windows 10 for another year. It's being rolled out at the moment and hasn't hit the UK yet.
You will have to pay £30 or thereabouts. Keep checking your Windows update page in settings.
Imagine me giving computer advice!
