…I doubt this regime will ‘overpay’. They seem to have strict appraisal of a players worth and stick to it, just as they did with renewal contracts.

IF there’s any truth in this pursuit, it’s beginning to feel like a bit of a vanity signing now it’s dragging out this long.
No doubt he’s a very good player, but surely he’s not alone in the £40m+ / £100k+ per week bracket?

I understand, there is just something not quite right about this. IF his form was dipping while at the end of his time at Villa and Juve want out after one season, the last thing we need is 40mil + on a 28 year old on high wages who is not interested

If it were for DL from before that period 40 mil is a no brainer - it is just a bit off that is all, we are so desperate for a bit of quality and a big name we would forgo the alarm bells.

His stats from Juve: Starting eleven: 3, Substituted in: 16, On the bench: 6, Suspended: 0, Injured: 13, Absence: 0 Goals:0 assist:0
He played about 500 minutes all season 5.5 games in total for 50 mil!!
