The 2025/26 Relegation Battle Thread

Current Everton odds about 7/1 (roughly the same as Palace, West Ham and Fulham).

Odds on Brentford and Wolves have shortened to about 3/1.

3 promoted teams clear favourites.

I think Forest at 10/1 are worth a dabble if they lose MGW.

Our 2013/2014 season was one of our best recent experiences, with a solid group of talent.

We opened the season 2-2 against Norwich and gifted Ricky van Wolfswinkel his only career goal in the prem.

Everton that.

Burnley - They’ve lost Egan who was their main defender last season, he was excellent. They look like losing Trafford now. The midfield looks seriously weak.

Brentford - Losing Frank and replacing him with Andrews is a huge gamble. Also losing Mbeumo, Norgaard and Wissa, is going to make it difficult for them.

Another one out of Leeds, Sunderland, Wolves and West Ham.

I think this season will be a lot closer than previous seasons for the promoted clubs, Sunderland and Leeds have really strengthened while a few in the bottom half seem to be weaker.

I reject the comparisons between Ipswich and Sunderland. Ipswich mainly signed British players from the Championship and paid a premium on them. Sunderland are signing well regarded young talent from around Europe and are mixing that with experience like that LB from Ath Madrid and soon to be Xhaka. We need 1/2 CB’s for sure. Another forward and a new keeper. If we get them, I think we’ll be fine. Now linked with Diakite who was playing champions league for Lille last season and Lucumi from Bologna. Either of them will really strengthen our defence.
