New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Call it a soft launch or whatever you want: I wouldn't call it a successful launch. The stock is hardly there to buy, no giveaways/promotions apart from a first in the door away shirt, no Everton player / personage on hand to mark the occasion, and - most worrying of all - the two levels are apparently cut off and therefore denied access to the disabled.

You'd think that most of that would have been spot on.
It would have been easy for the club to give away more than 1 jersey and to have had the full squad there for an hour or two, sign a few jerseys after all they were playing port vale in the evening at the ground.. make an event out of opening our flagship store.

There's something desperate about it all that they'd feel it necessary to partially have it up and running just to get a few quid in.

They went ahead and closed the doors to the shop at Goodison and then realized that the staff from there needed somewhere new to work. Never dawned on anyone that it might be an idea to have the new shop ready to before closing the other one.

Unfortunate if true.

The only part of the club that isn’t a shambles at the moment appears to be recruitment for the women’s team.

Maybe TFG need to stop bringing in ‘board observers’ and get some competent management on the ground.

Does seem a bit like the left and right hands don’t know what’s going on.
Bit of an own goal having the squad on site during this opening and not using any of them.

A soft launch? If so, it’s softer than a Cork hurler’s constitution.
