Pre Season Matches.

I am concerned about these next three games in America. We don't have enough senior players to get through the matches, especially with the likely very warm conditions. There have also been some issues in the past with the pitches at these venues, particularly at Metlife. So I hope we don't end up with injuries due to players being overworked.

And our only solution to help prevent injuries is to rotate and use young players and squad players who we know will never play for us in the league. It's frustrating to see players get a lot of minutes when we know they won't be part of the plans during the season.

It's a very bad situation to be in at this stage of pre-season, and I don't think it is going to go well. Serious questions need to be asked of the recruitment team at this point, as to why they did not have a number of players lined up before the start of pre-season when they knew how few players we have. I don't see any plan or strategy here and I don't understand how we expect to start a season well with this squad. We need more players than the other clubs around us, so we can't compare our recruitment so far with other teams.
They had 6 months to prepare...its beyond amateurish. I dont care that people have just joined in the last month or 2...they are football people supposedly, and goods ones too...Angus has had many beautiful things to say when he spoke a few weeks ago...since then no action...zero accountability as usual.

Just FYI to anyone joining up at the pub (Redds) before the NJ game on Saturday, please note that it's looking nearly impossible to walk to from the stadium even though it's within a mile of it. I've spent too much time on Google maps trying to find a viable route and there doesn't seem to be one. I'm probably going to avoid it due to this.

NYC is probably the most walkable city in the US, but Metlife stadium is pretty awful when it comes to getting around on foot. I'd encourage any traveling fans from outside the US to make sure they have a good idea of how they're getting in/out of the area ahead of time.

Also, please take a look at the train schedule if you're taking the train in. They have special trains for events at Metlife. You'll also want to figure out how to get to Hoboken or Secaucas to take said stadium train.

A stadium with poor transport links and awkward to walk to?
Why would anyone do that? 🤷‍♂️

Brings back memories of the Algarve cup in Faro. We played on a Saturday night and got a taxi to the ground nice and early and when we got out we knew we were going to have a problem getting back to the hotel. Ground was in the back end of nowhere, and there were loads of folks left standing around after the game with no way of getting away, no buses, tram service. Some folks had pre booked a taxi to pick them up after and were getting more taxis sent out to pick up the folks that were stuck at the ground. We got a taxi after over and hour wait and there were still loads of folks waiting.

Same as Philadelphia a few years back - a ground marooned in an area you wouldn't want to walk about in.
