New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Was at the store yesterday looking out over the wall from the 1st floor. Couldn't help but be underwhelmed at the prospect of a giant white marquee taking up such a prime location, which is directly facing central. No idea what I'd propose as an alternative, mind, but a dirty tent after a year or 2 of winters doesn't seem fitting for the location. The warehouse that he's purchased behind it looks to have a lot of potential though, if spruced up correctly.

A proper building in keeping with the local area, as you say a tent will look dirty and shabby in a short time..

Not sure who posted this on here -you may have already seen- but this seemingly was a concept plan. Looks a tad better then the tent

Few other images- swipe right at the top of the page

Absolutely ridiculous that you have to go through what looks like an emergency exit set of stairs to get to the second floor of the shop.

Im sure it goes up more than one level too.

Why split the shop like that?

Absolutely no planning sense, its like they saw 2 floors were empty and decided to turn them into a shop when they werent properly connected.

Everton simply have to get their hands on that space and the space where those awful porta cabins are set to go in at Nelson Dock. Personally cannot believe the club has let others get in there.
The problem was getting the stadium itself built first, then obviously there has been a takeover in-between it all.

So while all that had been going on it's allowed Spinks to fly in and pick up the pieces.

I agree though the club needs to start fighting tooth and nail for the space in and around the ground otherwise it's a massive missed opportunity.

Am sure this isn't lost on TFG.

If you are going to force people up stairs like that - I assume there must be a lift for disabled people too - then paint the bloody walls.

Everything is so "this will do" about the new stadium at the moment.

The club have invested almost £800M into the north end of the city and taken care of the anchor role needed to regenerate that end of the city for the council.

The council should be making sure that in the stadium's outer environs no Tom, D1ck or Adolf can come along and lay claim to the cash they can make at that stadium.

If the council dont knock back that monstrosity across the road and anything else around there that threatens income then they're stabbing Everton and its fans in the back.

On top of the transport scandal it'll create a lot of bad blood.

Since the hand over and the new owners everything seems to done to the bare minimum.
That's definitely my impression. On and off the field.

Have we had a single wow moment yet? Nope.

Kudos for retaining Branthwaite - but that's the definition of bare minimum. Now, perhaps they'll surprise us yet, but it will be a surprise now rather than something I thought would happen almost by default given their history elsewhere.

Perhaps they are waiting for the week of the Roma match to wow us and then arrive gloriously in the city. But it's hard not be a little underwhelmed now, with one week to August.

There is a lift, there was a young fan in a wheelchair on the 2nd floor when I was in there.
As for decoration, that will come. I don’t think any fan will walk out because the walls aren’t painted.
It looked fine to me and will look even better over time

I get that - but fans SHOULD be demanding, and we should be demanding the best.

I reckon you're right - it will be done eventually. But the Friedkins have to earn that trust - and their transfer activity so far this summer is very much like the stadium: a work-in-progress.

You'll have to forgive fans for demanding more until "more" is actually delivered. Then, with a track record at Everton, they'll have some slack from people.
