Concerned

The only thing I am concerned about is whether Jack Harrison celebrates if he scores against us. Does he give us the respectful head down with a pained expression on his face or does he go full Gazza dentist chair celebration. Its what keeps me up at night
He'll be busy wiping the mud off his shorts after it's gone in off his arse.

We should be aiming for Europe. That means players bedded in during pre-season and ready to fit whatever system the manager has in mind.

Bringing in 4 or 5 players a few days before the season starts means a disjointed team. So people are right to be concerned.

It's not like we have a Giggs, Scholes, Butt & Beckham to surprise the world with.

Get on with it.

I see the woman’s team is continuing to strengthen with intent.
It appears the management had a clearly defined plan , and had identified the players they wanted to recruit.

Investing in the women's team makes sense, as it will encourage more people to visit Goodison and generate revenue. Whereas, fifty odd thousand will trot down to Bramley Moore every two weeks, regardless of how we do.

It’s impressive , the owners have backed the manager and shown they are determined to do everything they can to improve the team .
Like I say , the management in this case clearly had an achievable and discernible plan.
It would be nice to see evidence of similar resolve and planning on the men’s side .

A squad that was already one of the thinnest in the league last season. Since then we've lost 9 players and added 2. Cant say its not worrying, the sheer lack of numbers. I'd have certainly expected more in through the door by now. I'm sure they will add more, but its hard not to be concerned. Especially when you see other clubs bringing players in.

Have to admit it, when I woke up this morning (which is afternoon in the UK) and there is still not the beginnings of a sniff of a rumour of an incoming transfer, my sheets did start to feel slightly damp. The worry is setting in. Our squad is so thin, and there is so much work to be done.

Dear forum members. I used to be a member of the ‘Unconcerned’. I have now jumped ship…

It's starting to feel a mite complacent to me - I don't see how late business either brings down prices or allows players to settle in. Confusing and a bit worrying, yes.

Right now it's like the non-spending version of the summer where Walsh, Koeman and BK all had their own - evidently very private - plans for the squad. And was that other Dutch DOF fella also knocking about the joint by then - just for some extra misdirection. Awful. The start of the really serious rot that summer.

Whilst I suppose not wasting money is not nearly as bad as wilfully spanking it in the most ego-driven manner ever, I would like to see players given 3-4 weeks to blend and step-up.

Still it's an opportunity for U23s and suggests Moyes is going for a few tried and proven fellas to join late doors.
