Concerned

I think there is a disparity between the quality of player we hoped to sign and who, at this stage, is immediately interested enough to sign for us. That may change later in the window when there are potentially less options for them but is a gamble as we may then miss out on our next options in key positions if our first choices ultimately don’t sign. Analysing and managing those kind of risks and making key decisions is exactly what we pay senior staff huge salaries to do, so come 2nd September we’ll have a better idea of whether the changes the new owners have made have been effective.

After positive vibes coming through since Moyes came in to the rescue, I felt the upward trajectory would continue with astute business in the transfer market, and also the release of those players who could not improve the side.

Furthermore, the Friedkin monies had me believe we would make 4 or 5 signings of real quality to not only replace the dozen or so released, (including a couple of surprise releases) but importantly to raise the Everton level of quality to that which a club of this stature must have to be seated within the top 10 at least. (But I’ll happily take that for starters.)

Alas, this has not happened, and I have to say, I feel this has been a poor effort by the club. I totally trusted we would see real change this coming season, after so many difficult ones.

Yet, effectively, little has happened, they keep on quoting Alcaraz as a new signing ? But he’s not!!! he was with with us last year, I was expecting new players to ADD to him and Ndaiye.

We are now just 4 weeks away from the Prem kick off. So if 4 or 5 new players are still the plan then it needs to happen soon, ie Now. They need a chance to settle in and feel a proper part of it, yet the way it’s been done has been terrible, a complete shambles really. Too little too late.

I feel like we have been let down, and the club hierarchy have let themselves down. It’s been Amateurish and this lack of urgency smacks of a certain arrogance. Are we really that good that we can afford to behave like this?

Can we really expect to see a team that will excel in our new stadium when the quality in depth just isn’t there?

I am concerned. I hope I am wrong, but I feel that the special season ahead at our new home, one that filled with me with real hope and expectation that we were at last back on course for success, has been quashed before it’s even started.

I want to be wrong, so so much. But I feel our mismanagement within the transfer market will be something for which we may have to pay a price.
Only the addition of at least 3 players of real quality before the big kick off will ease my fears.
So I’m praying Kinnear, Moyes and our owners get their fingers out quickly, before it’s too late.
Are you new round here

Not concerned because we’ve all lived the alternative Everton reality which we show no signs of repeating (yet)

Branthwaite sold for 30% less than his value
Getting rinsed buying this years bolasie / Sigurdson
Sean Longstaff or some UTD reject would now be on the books
If we need a striker we’ll get a striker
Cuco Martina / Jo / Senderos / Andy van der Meyde

Confident we won’t be repeating any of this nonsense and end up all the stronger for it

A rallying call for the excuse makers right here.

FREEDOM!!!!

Made 2 decent signings In Alcarez and Berry. Could do with a pacy winger. A midfield player and a full back. I am sure they will come. Just got to be patient.
I would rather wait and get quality than panic and get dross

Feel like the worry has snowballed by more and more people jumping on it.

Did anyone REALLY expect us to replace every outgoing player? Ifbyou do you're not signing quality, youre signing quantity, and you end up in the same position.

Weve got 3 weeks before the season starts and for me, id rather us not just burn money for the sake of burning it. If we've got targets and they're not available yet, then wait. If they dont, then you wait, and the following summer there's more in the FFP pot.

If we Panic and just sign any random player and it doesnt work, it isn't going to help us, is it?

Two big signings in Barry & Alcaraz. A huge renewal in Branthwaite. Id say its not even been a bad window.

Who signed Senderos? He came on loan but never played once did he?

I mean we need some players like. If we are carrying 4 or 5 injuries (and there is absolutely nothing unusual in that) then we’d have players out of position and youth players all over the shop.
