Concerned

the previous owner, moshiri spunked ridiculous sums of money on bog average players and paid them ludicrious wages

do you want our new owners to do that? because if you do, they could probably sign 8 schneiderlins and bolasies by next week

it takes time to find the right players you want to bring in and not ruin the clubs wage structure and ensure that the club can remain PSR compliant

the club is not going to see the returns that the increased revenue of the new stadium will bring till next season

they have to be very careful on who they sign, how much they sign for and how much to pay them

i'd rather they take their time and find the right players than rush to buy a bunch of turd burglars

Can everyone get really anxious on here please.

Things are going quite well for a Monday, all things considered.

The Transfer thread is currently running at near ten pages an hour, on nothing but the weekends Cocaine comedown crash.

I just hope non of them are using heavy machinery or we could be reading about a few arms or digits mangled or ripped off, on some lad in work, who was more concerned with the fact that we haven`t signed anyone this week, than the big lump of moving metal he`s supposed to be operating.

8 of each or just 8 all together?

After positive vibes coming through since Moyes came in to the rescue, I felt the upward trajectory would continue with astute business in the transfer market, and also the release of those players who could not improve the side.

Furthermore, the Friedkin monies had me believe we would make 4 or 5 signings of real quality to not only replace the dozen or so released, (including a couple of surprise releases) but importantly to raise the Everton level of quality to that which a club of this stature must have to be seated within the top 10 at least. (But I’ll happily take that for starters.)

Alas, this has not happened, and I have to say, I feel this has been a poor effort by the club. I totally trusted we would see real change this coming season, after so many difficult ones.

Yet, effectively, little has happened, they keep on quoting Alcaraz as a new signing ? But he’s not!!! he was with with us last year, I was expecting new players to ADD to him and Ndaiye.

We are now just 4 weeks away from the Prem kick off. So if 4 or 5 new players are still the plan then it needs to happen soon, ie Now. They need a chance to settle in and feel a proper part of it, yet the way it’s been done has been terrible, a complete shambles really. Too little too late.

I feel like we have been let down, and the club hierarchy have let themselves down. It’s been Amateurish and this lack of urgency smacks of a certain arrogance. Are we really that good that we can afford to behave like this?

Can we really expect to see a team that will excel in our new stadium when the quality in depth just isn’t there?

I am concerned. I hope I am wrong, but I feel that the special season ahead at our new home, one that filled with me with real hope and expectation that we were at last back on course for success, has been quashed before it’s even started.

I want to be wrong, so so much. But I feel our mismanagement within the transfer market will be something for which we may have to pay a price.
Only the addition of at least 3 players of real quality before the big kick off will ease my fears.
So I’m praying Kinnear, Moyes and our owners get their fingers out quickly, before it’s too late.

As far as studies in psychology go this summer is delivering excellent data. I’m particularly interested in two groups:

1 - those who are angry and want everyone else to be as angry as they are, especially the passive aggressive narrative setting and recruitment of others - and how that emboldens the bonds between middle aged strangers on the internet

2 - the positive everything will be ok clique and at what point will they break as the season nears if the transfers roll in. Will they then remain steadfast in their stance, defect to their prior foes, or just sit on the fence and antagonise both sides into other as a summer pastime.

Not concerned at all tbh

We have shifted big wages off the books..
Signed a few and still have 6 weeks of the window to go..
We have funds we know that it’s about being patient and trusting the new system that’s in place to use these funds correctly

Can we not want the club to act quickly and efficiently in the market?

It doesn't have to be this, or bust with Moshiri.

what is your definition of quickly and efficiently

everyone knew we had to wait until 1st July 2025 before we could purchase anyone due to the PSR period

its been 3 weeks since we could sign players, we have bought 2 players already and almost signed Tete, signed Branthwaite to a new long term contract and secured new deals for Coleman, Gueye and Keane.

what would you have expected by now?
