2024/25 Nathan Patterson

As polarizing as he is, if we sell him we’ve got yet another player to replace. I’d rather hang onto him until we can field a team with a bench.

….we need a RB whether he stays or goes. Successive managers have worked around him rather than select him; Godfrey, Coleman, Young, O’Brien, Dixon and even Garner were picked ahead of him.

Totally agree, mate. Of that list, most have gone. Love Seamus but he’s hit that injury prone time in life and can’t reliably be counted on. Even so, Coleman gives me more confidence than Patterson. I don’t even know what happened to Dixon. He played once or twice the beginning of last season and was shelved.

….Dixon didn’t have a great season for U21 and is currently at Stockport on loan.

Out of interest, when was Dixon or garner ever selected ahead of him when he was available?

Interestingly, when we needed a left back vs Arsenal last season, he was selected out of position ahead of our supposed back up left back and club captain to play there.

…..just ticking off players who have played RB whilst he’s been here, fair point that Patterson might not have been available for certain games but they could’ve been selected regardless.

I thought Nathan Patterson had a shaky start to the Blackburn Rovers game, then settled down and did okay. He definitely needs to up his game a bit, but he's not as bad as many fans make him out to be.
Too much time has passed for him to come good and become a top half PL RB.

If he goes anywhere it is Scotland or further down the English footballing ladder. Fair to say he will never get another contract like this one

No he will head back to Rangers and make his mammy happy.

There's a player there somewhere but looks like he spends way too much time at the breakfast buffet

looks like he just decided to try out for our Sunday league pub team, AFTER he's been on a fri and sat night bender.

am keeping faith in Moyes and Baines' coaching to improve paterson and mykolenko though, while we invest first into pace and creativity on the RW and in CM.
