2024/25 Youssef Chermiti

Yes looked ok in Sligo and the other pre season games last year. Post that, have seen / heard murmurs on podcasts about training attitude not being what it could be. And yes carrying some timber too.
I think that the intention has been to "beef" him up, to add to his physical presence. Didn't see the game yesterday but possibly they have gone too far.

I still think there’s something there. He was injured long term and since getting better hasn’t played a ton. I wouldn’t call him awful. There are some truly awful players out there. But he’s unpolished and untested. Needs a nice loan spell like Armstrong and then we can see what we have.

….i fear there’s a good chance he’ll struggle for games on loan, it’s very competitive in lower leagues and I’m not convinced by his application or his ability.

Certainly be interesting if he does find a club.

Indeed.
Banish him to Norwich for a year!

Wasn't there talk of Preston a few weeks back?

Norwich signed Dobbin on loan in January and he did o.k for a month before getting injured so you'd like to think Chermiti can at least get some confidence as ultimately he has played very little football in two years and at his age he needs to play at some level to develop.

Wrong about a young player thats come back after a long term injury?

I'm not sure how you can categorically state "never making it here".
Now 21 years old and unable to get any minutes here. 2 seasons, 0 goals, 0 assists. Plenty of managers have seen him and he was not able to force his way into an appalling Everton side.

I am comfortable with my assessment

I think that’s his problem right there mate, he hasn’t played a ton. He should have by this age. Either through injury or managers just not fancying him he hasn't played enough which is critical at this point in his development. I think we have to make a decision now, if he isn’t going to play regular games here he needs to at least go on loan to somwhere or a level he will. If we don’t act now by the time his contract renewal comes around he’ll end up leaving on a free and become just another quiz question

….that he’ll be the most technically gifted striker Everton have ever had?

I think I could pick 100 ahead of him.

1st season it was stated he was a signing to develop i.e not going to play

2nd season he was injured

Not really sure who "plenty of managers" are?
