….Open starts on Thursday, looking forward to long hours watching and hoping I get a run for my money from my bets.

Been backing Robert Macintyre 40-1 for a while, will have a little more with extra places this week. Little on Hatton and took 50-1 Fitzpatrick when he started to show a bit of form over the weekend. Pavon 250-1 a longshot but played very well in the Open last year.

Clearly, I am useless when it comes to golf betting.

….very happy with my pre-tournament position (above) so not tempted to go back in. Was going to back Harman @55-1 yesterday when he started his charge (William Hill offer bet £5 get £5 bet) but I resisted.

Although happy with my position, it’s hard to see past Sheffler. I think Harman could be a big danger as he looks in that same rhythm as when he won a few years ago.

What a golf course Portrush is. A fair few brutish holes, but some great chances for birdies if played correctly. Perfectly balanced golf course. Much more entertaining than the borefest grind that was the US open. This open championship is turning out to be a great watch.

As many times as he wants, providing he has a marker placed behind the ball, however if the rules are correctly applied he should make his stroke within 50 seconds.

As a meh golfer I find his game fascinating. His feet move all over the place, he hits shots with ridiculous follow throughs and everything ends up exactly where he wants it to. It’s unbelievable really.

I've watched him up close a lot this week and he's am incredible player. He knows exactly what shot to play every single time and then he's good enough to do it most of the time. His course management is on another level.
