Womens Euro 2025

My take is that, I just dont think Women's football is for me.

Had i never watched a game of Men's football, i think id actually enjoy it, but I just cant stop comparing it. So ruins my enjoyment.

My ultimate take on it all though, is that Extra Time is so outdated. The second half was quite enjoyable from when I turned it on, but second half both teams were absolutely destroyed during ET.

I believe a few of the winners from 3 years ago, weren't happy at being first choice and retired, so id like England to go on and win it, as im petty like that.

Oh and that Swedish Goalkeeper, claiming the 5th pen? Then missing. Fantastic stuff. At least you cant say its boring.

The Joey Bartons are out in force tonight.
I honestly didn’t realise that we had so many on this forum. Genuinely saddened by the state of it. And it’s not even just newbie WUM’s but also a number of forum supporters. If any of you have daughters or nieces who are starting on their footballing journey I just hope you never express these opinions in front of them. Drag yourselves out of the 1970s.

Overall quality is improving but the elite footballers are few and spread out across different NTs rather than a single one with a discernible style apart from Spain (benefits from Barça Femeni spine)

I thought the pks reflected the overall lack of football quality that was more or less a match of lumping it forward to the more technical players but I’d wager that even the women’s Italia side plays more attractive football than the men currently. It’s quite variable but I think the women’s game has been growing in quality for years now. I have derived a lot of pleasure from watching them, particularly during the dip in Barça’s men’s team before the Lamine era began

You can’t watch something like this and not be inspired

It certainly isn't boring. The slightly lower level of technique means that they can't play keep ball for ten minutes at a time. Double the amount of entertainment compared to the post season friendlies we saw in the Club World Cup.

Turned in just as England had equalised last night so watched the rest of it.

If that is a barometer of women’s football I’d say it’s come on in leaps and bounds since the last time I watched, apart from penalties obviously 🥺

Thought the technique and skill levels were very good and it was also a bit blood and thunder.

My thoughts on that were abundently clear. Another nail in the coffin.

But I just cant shake the comparison, which is totally a me thing.

Standard went down in ET... But its rare that any game maintains quality in ET. The world cup final in 2022 was probably last one I recall.

No doubt people will reflect on yhe dire penalties, but was an enjoyable second half.

Good win. Had a thought though, would be it better for the games to be streamed in normal (not HD/4K), as they probably aren't wearing make up?
